‘MAFS’: Will Virginia & Erik Agree On Having Kids?
MAFS takes a look at Virginia and Erik and the subject of kids. Well, Lifetime fans doubt that she has all the makings of a mom at the moment. In fact, she seems like a real party girl. And you might recall early scenes where she drank way too much at her wedding. That brought a lot of comments from critics on Twitter. And many fans wonder if the Married at First Sight experts really thought them through as a potential couple.
MAFS – Virginia ready for kids with Erik?
We reported that controversy with Virginia started when she spent the “majority of her wedding” looking rather drunk. Obviously, people drink at weddings. But fans noticed that she didn’t stop at just one or two. So, some fans felt a bit bad for Erik as it looked like Lifetime paired him with “a binge drinker.” People could live with her taking a shot before she married. After all, she pretty much married a stranger. But she also drank loads of wine during the reception.
Most people enjoy a party-person at a party. But Erik might not want to marry one. Too late for now, they tied the knot. And they now look at other important aspects of a long-term future. In the upcoming MAFS episode, she discusses kids. At 26, she’s at the right age to at least know her mind on that. Maybe she and Eric never ticked that box when they submitted their application to Married at First Sight?
Kids a vital part of marriage considerations
Thrive Global notes that the decisions on kids must take top priority. In fact, they describe likemindedness on it as “crucial” for marriage. After all, it’s a “major life-choice.” The days when men expect their wives to breed kids are long over. And nowadays, in modern marriages, women hold their own careers. So, it becomes even more important that partners agree on kids ahead of that walk down the aisle.
In Lifetime’s teaser on February 2, Virginia talked about kids. Erik really wants kids and he’s very good with his siblings. Plus, Erik’s mom really wants grandchildren. But Virginia said it’s a “concern” for her and she only feels “50/50” on having them. So she said she needs a couple of “years” to think it through. Once again, fans wondered if MAFS experts got it all wrong for this couple. One fan commented, “The show needs new experts,” And a few others agreed. One of them suggested the casting team probably take precedent over what the experts want.
Lots of fans mentioned that they don’t believe Virginia’s ready for kids as she still needs to do a lot of personal growing up. Others think she’s just way too immature for Erik.
