Matt James Struggles With Season 25 Twist
In promos for the next episode, ABC already spilled the beans about the shocking twist. After eliminating over 10 women in the span of just 3 episodes, the competition is getting some new blood.
Five new women will arrive in limos on the episode airing on January 25. Fans are already angry about the twist, calling it “unfair” to others who have been there since day 1. And it seems that Matt James might also be feeling some type of way about meeting the new women.
The official Bachelor Instagram shared a promo of Matt James worrying he won’t feel any connection to any of the new women. Or worse, he might.
Matt James is a unique case of lead on the ABC dating competition. Unlike previous leads, he has never been on any of the Bachelor Nation shows. Luckily, one of the previous leads was willing to come on and help a guy out.
Bachelor Alum Visits Matt James
In a teaser shared by ABC on social media, long-time Bachelor Nation fans may recognize the man Matt James greets with a hug and a smile. It is none other than Season 20 Bachelor, Ben Higgins!
He tried to find love on the dating competition back in 2016. He did find love with Lauren Bushnell. The couple dated for a year, even starring in a spin-off, Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After? on Freeform.
After splitting with Lauren, Ben Higgins found lasting love with Jessica Clarke, whom he met online. The couple is engaged and plan to marry soon.
Lauren Bushnell is married to country singer Chris Lane and expecting their first child in June.
The teaser promo cuts off before Ben Higgins can give Matt James any advice. He does, however, pose the question of how James plans to bring the “old regime” and the new ladies together. Fans will have to tune in to see Matt James’ response.

Since appearing on the show this season, Ben Higgins did get a feel for who he thinks Matt James picks. According to Monsters and Critics, his best guess is Rachael.
Fans React: Why Not Tyler Cameron?
Bachelor Nation fans flocked to the comment section with reactions to seeing Ben Higgins. Many fans had the same question: Why not Tyler Cameron? As Bachelor fans know, Tyler Cameron and Matt James are best friends. In fact, they share an apartment in New York City.
However, one fan may have the answer. While Tyler Cameron did compete on The Bachelorette, he has never been the leading star on the franchise.
