Honey Boo Boo isn’t eyeing a return to Toddlers & Tiaras. It’s not as though the teen has anything wrong against her old show. She’s simply too busy to make an appearance.
The famous toddler-turned-famous-teen has a new reality television show. Honey Boo Boo, whose real name is Alana Thompson, has starred on Mama June: From Not to Hot since 2017. A source close to the teen says she’s under an obligation to stay on WEtv.
“Alana has been busy filming for WEtv. WEtv is where her current show is, and it’s her home,” the source said.
However, while she would likely say no to an appearance on Toddlers & Tiaras: Where Are They Now, she also wasn’t asked. The same source that talked about Alana’s schedule said no one from the other reality series ever reached out to her.
That program is where Alana got her start. She starred on the program in 2012 and 2013 before her bombastic personality earned her, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.
Honey Boo Boo And Her Winding Road
While Alana has largely had a successful reality television career, there have been bumps in the road. Two years ago, Alana’s mother Mama June was arrested for possession of a controlled substance as well as drug paraphernalia. She later pled not guilty alongside boyfriend Geno Doak.
After the legal troubles, the family mostly laid low. Fans of Alana next heard from the family when Honey Boo Boo’s half-sister dropped a bit of a bombshell. It turns out Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon revealed the pair are still living together after all these years.
Pumpkin is not only serving as a kind of guardian for Alana, but she has her own child. While Honey Boo Boo is 15 and mostly looks after herself, Pumpkin has a three-year-old with her husband, Josh.
The Sober Life
While there was a bit of a dark cloud over Alana’s life, things appear to be turning around. Mama June is celebrating 11 months of sobriety. She marked the anniversary in December, meaning she’s creeping up on a full year this month.
While she’s celebrating her new lease on life, she recently shared a photo on social media where she admitted she was “looking rough as hell… after being on cocaine for a few years.”
At the same time, Mama June wrote that she was proud of the way she’s handled herself over the last year.
While Alana and her family celebrate the matriarch of the group finding control over her life, Honey Boo Boo isn’t going to be looking all the way back to the show where she got her start. When Toddlers & Tiaras: Where Are They Now airs later this month, one of its most famous faces will be missing. However, Alana’s fans already know what she’s been up to.
