Olivia Plath Shares Whether She & Ethan Are Ready For Kids
Welcome to Plathville fans have seen the ups and downs of Ethan and Olivia Plath’s marriage on the TLC show. The pair tied the knot on October 13, 2018. So, fans are starting to wonder whether the couple plans on having children.
Olivia previously said she’s not ready to make sacrifices when she was talking about children. It’s unclear if she meant that she would never make those sacrifices or if she would when she is ready. Now, the couple is continuing the conversation about the possibility of children.
In an interview with PEOPLE, the couple talks about the plans they have for the future of their family. Olivia says, “I think our ideal would be to have a few of our own and then adopt a few. But I also know that in many ways, we’re not ready for kids and the fact that we need to heal and process our own childhoods before we bring another child into the world.”
Olivia continues, talking about how they are preparing for the future, “I’m currently in therapy. I started again last month, just realizing that I was not in a healthy place and I needed to work through things. And I think maybe once we’ve gone through some therapy, we feel like we’ve processed our childhoods and we’re ready to not just react when we have our own kids, but actually like, take positive steps for a better childhood for them,”
She says that she wants to make more memories with her husband Ethan. Then, in a few years, they will probably have a couple of kids. But she makes it clear that they’re not in a hurry to grow their family.
Ethan and Olivia Plath both come from large families
In the interview, Olivia explains, “Ethan and I both love kids. We’re both from large families, and we would definitely love to have a couple of kids.”
As Welcome to Plathville viewers know, Ethan’s family is big. He’s one of nine kids. Additionally, Olivia has a large family. She is the fourth child of 10.
For this reason, fans wouldn’t necessarily be surprised if the pair decided to have a large family in the future. But, as viewers have seen, they aren’t afraid to make their own lives for themselves. They seem to be stepping away from Ethan’s parents’ strict views, so they might opt out of the big family norm as well.
