Poop! Amy Slater is Pregnant!

Viewers of 1000-Lb Sisters are celebrating a big event with Amy Slaton. The 33-year old TLC reality star announced her first pregnancy on a recent episode of the show and says she couldn’t be more thrilled. Her sister Tammy Slaton however, is a lot less excited.

According to Soap Dirt Amy Slaton found out she was expecting during a recent trip to the hospital. After suffering from an uncomfortable and prolonged bout of constipation made an appointment with her doctor. Due to her stomach issues, her doctor calls for an X-ray.

Like any other type of scan, radiologists are required to confirm female patients are not pregnant before allowing them to be exposed to radiation. So, as a precaution, the tech sent her down the hall for a pregnancy test. Amy was certainly not expecting to be pregnant. In fact, when the results came back and the tech told her she was expecting Amy told them that they must have the wrong person.

During the episode, Amy leaves the hospital and gets back in the car with husband, Michael, handing him a sheet of paper. After telling him that she is pregnant – fans rejoiced with Michael and Amy as the two embraced and celebrated a sweet moment of joy over things to come.

 

Amy Was Not Supposed to Get Pregnant!

The show 1000-Lb Sisters revolves around Amy and Tammy Slater. At the start of the series, both siblings combined weighed right at 1000 lbs. Both sisters decided for their own reasons that they needed to shed some pounds. The show has thus far followed them on this journey — a road that recently included Amy’s bariatric weight loss surgery less than four months ago.

Post-surgery, Amy Slater has lost more than 100 pounds. She looks amazing and fans have been cheering her on every step of the way.  But, has she put herself at risk? Multiple sources report that not getting pregnant was actually part of Amy’s agreement with her doctor prior to him signing off on the surgery.

Why Was Tammy Slater Angry Over Amy’s Pregnancy?

If you watch 1000-Lb Sisters, you know that these two siblings are very close. Tammy loves her sister very much. Like any protective and concerned sister, Tammy’s main concern is her sister’s health and well being.

According to People, When Amy called her older sister to tell her the news, Tammy was horrified. Amy revealed to Tammy that she thought the doctor was lying to her. Tammy replied to her sister by saying, “I wish he was lying to you.”

When asked how she felt about Amy’s announcement, Tammy said that she wasn’t sure how to respond to the news. In a later interview, Tammy explains some of her internal dialogue at the time. She remembers thinking that Amy must be crazy.  ‘Really? Are you freakin’ serious? You know you’re not supposed to be pregnant right now,’ she said, recalling her initial thoughts.

 

Tammy Slater Wants the Best for Her Sister

While on the surface it might appear that Tammy is feeling a little salty over Amy’s pregnancy – it all boils down to love. The TLC celeb knows how hard her sister worked to lose the weight and doesn’t want to see anything jeopardize her progress. Additionally, after having such a major surgery, Tammy worries about the potential complications the pregnancy might have. Big Sister is thrilled that Amy is pregnant. She knows her little sister has wanted to be a mom for as long as she can remember. On the other hand Tammy voices that she is very concerned about what the coming months will bring, especially given the high-risk nature of Amy’s Pregnancy.
