Kaitlyn Bristowe Shares Update On COVID-19, She’s Anxious Following More Symptoms
Former Bachelorette and recent Dancing With the Stars winner Kaitlyn Bristowe has COVID-19. The reality star announced Christmas Eve that she and boyfriend Jason Tartick have coronavirus. Now, following their diagnosis, Kaitlyn is updating fans on her progress and how she’s coping.

US Weekly shared an update from Kaitlyn on how she’s handling her diagnosis and symptoms that are developing. She actually went to her Instagram Story to share the update with her fans. On Monday Kaitlyn said, “I’m scared. I’m upset and I’m frustrated.” She continued, “I’ve been trying really hard to do the whole perspective thing, but a few of my friends have been like, ‘Kaitlyn, it’s OK to be scared and to be upset and to be frustrated at this,’ and so today, I’m just allowing myself to be bummed out.”
Kaitlyn also shared that friends had reached out to her letting her know it’s okay to feel that way.
She also admits losing her taste and smell was weird. Kaitlyn says she feels like she has a really bad cold. She said, “I feel a little bit depressed and, like, super anxious and scared.” She continued, “I’m worried if, like, what if my smell and taste never come back? Then I get scared, like, what if tomorrow, I wake up, and I can’t breathe? What if the next day, I’m, like, not OK? I’m doing all these what ifs and I’m spiraling, and I feel really, really anxious today. I hate when things are unpredictable, and COVID is definitely unpredictable.”
Their diagnosis
Kaitlyn and Jason shared their diagnosis on Christmas Eve. The two said they were very careful about following guidelines. However, a friend, who tested negative every single day came to see them. The following day the friend’s test was positive. So, Jason and Kaitlyn became exposed and ultimately caught the virus.
The couple has been hunkering down with their two dogs Ramen and Pinot. When they announced their illness, Jason and Kaitlyn said, “Covid is bigger than us. Today, we are thinking of everyone who is spending the holidays alone, anyone who is sick or overcoming something, (as 2020 has taught us to overcome a lot), and all of the healthcare workers who have been away from family, taking care of others for months, and months now. We will be ok!! Be safe and happy holidays!!”
No doubt their systems could have been tired from all the travel and excitement surrounding Kaitlyn’s DWTS victory. And, fans are still hoping to see a proposal from Jason sometime in the near future. Kaitlyn made it clear she is ready for babies following her big win. In the meantime, they will be resting and getting better.
