According to TVLine, Rachel (Luner) is ready to move on. Her Brad (McNamara) stood up and left right before the holidays. Soon, Rachel meets Michael (Messner) and his teenage daughter, Sophia (Grace). Rachel is a vocal coach and she is working with Sofia for the annual Christmas Eve pageant.
But, Sophia finds herself challenged to hit the high note in her solo of “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing.” Rachel really connects to Sophia. After a not so great practice, Sophia runs way from the group. Rachel talks to the dejected singer. She tells her young student, “Some of the most successful people in life make the most mistakes.” She went on to tell her that trying means that you may fail. But this is an opportunity to learn. Moreover, by trying, this gives you confidence.
This is the sort of sage advice that we all want to hear during the holidays, as we prepare for a new year. But, will Rachel listen to her own advice? Brad is back in the picture, but Michael is the guy that makes her heart truly sing.
The Christmas High Note premieres on Tuesday, December 22 at 8 p.m. Eastern, on Lifetime.
