Jill Dillard and Derick suffered a bit of a catastrophe with the boys’ books recently. Now, they visited Potter House Thrift Store in Springdale. There, the boys saw some books, and she bought them a few. Perhaps she never successfully fixed the clean-up gone wrong with Sam and Israel’s old books.
Jill Dillard, Derick and the kids meet up with Amy at Potters House Thrift
We reported on December 20, that Jill and Derick played with kids sledding in the snow. So, they ended up with a pile of laundry. Mom and dad went off and sorted out the laundry. Meanwhile, the “helpful” kids decided to wash their storybooks. Oops! Jill wondered what on earth motivates kids sometimes. We noted that they did all the right things trying to save the storybooks. But, they never really turn out perfect again. Making it worse, she only just took them out to read at Christmas time.
TLC fans know that the Counting On alum and Derick enjoy reading to their kids. So, books seem treasured in the family. Taking to her Instagram on December 21, Jill revealed via Stories, that she caught up with friends Rachel Virden and Amanda Ehret at the Potters House Thrift Store in Springdale. The boys seemed rather bored until they saw the bookshelf.
New books for the Dillard boys
In her Instagram stories, Jill revealed that Derick pottered around browsing. Meanwhile, the boys seemed very bored as they kept asking to use her phone. They wanted to watch cartoons. Jill pushed them around in the cart. But, then, they spotted the books. Suddenly both of them became very excited. Clearly, the boys also love reading storybooks. Derick joined them and they looked at all of them.
Jill Dillard noted that one looked brand new. And, Israel immediately wanted them to head home so he could read and play. The jigsaw book looked like a good find. Some critics of the Duggar family scoff at the family as they often shop in thrift stores for clothing and whatnot. But, people who visit those stores know that some exciting finds lurk in there. In fact, sometimes people score amazing wins in thrift stores. Treasure hunting in them attracts a lot of people across the world.
Shopping with friends
On her main Instagram, the Counting On alum talked about shopping with friends. At the moment, she seems quite estranged from the Duggar family. So, she said that she “prayed” for friends. It looks like on their shopping day, Rachel Virden and Amanda Ehret bought Jill a gift. She revealed a bowl of candy and thanked her friends for the treats.
It seems nice for Jill Dillard that she and Derick make normal friends that they can hang with: even it’s just on a trip to the thrift store. Do you agree? Sound off in the comments below.
