Some ‘7 Little Johnstons’ Fans Had No Idea Amber Is A Teacher
Amber Johnston took to Instagram yesterday to dote about returning to school after a short Thanksgiving break. The post came complete with a very up close selfie of Amber rocking an adorable Christmas themed mask. The simple post provoked a lot of questions from 7 Little Johnstons fans. For starters, some fans of the TLC family had no idea Amber was a teacher.
When did Amber Johnston become a teacher?
As we previously reported earlier this year, the news that Amber Johnston is a teacher is pretty fresh. So, it isn’t too much of a shock that some of her Instagram followers had no idea. Previously, Amber had a pretty successful career in real estate. But, she thought it was time to follow her heart. Unfortunately, her heart wasn’t in real estate. Her heart was in shaping the minds of the youth.
Now, 7 Little Johnstons can sympathize with it being an unfortunate time to decide to pursue a career in teaching. After all, the pandemic has made going to school incredibly difficult. Teachers have had to make a wealth of changes to how they do things.
As the winter season settles in, a lot of schools across the country have switched to virtual learning. Between COVID-19 and the flu, some aren’t willing to risk an outbreak. It, however, appears as if that is not the case for the school Amber teachers at. Presently, it looks as if it is business as usual. In fact, her up close selfie shows her standing in a classroom. With tons of empty computer stations just waiting for students to fill them.
We know she had some reservations about teaching because of her size
Now, in the teaser for the upcoming season of 7 Little Johnstons we see Amber kick off her career as a teacher. Amber gets candid with her family about the anxiety associated with teaching because of her size. In fact, she fully expected to have to spend some time discussing her size with her students. She knew it was something they would wonder about. And, it was better to discuss it and moved past it. This way her students would not linger on it when they should be working.
Naturally, she also anticipated having to discuss the proper terminology to use when referring to someone of her height. She’d hoped it would be an educational moment for her students. And, she hoped they could move past it and accept her as a teacher.

Clearly behind in news related to the show, some 7 Little Johnstons fans admit they had no idea she was a teacher. It, however, was something everyone was happy and supportive to learn. Amber also attracted the attention of many teachers who noted the post made their “teacher hearts” very happy.
