MTV’s Teen Mom 2 is heading for the Netflix streaming library. And, subscribers can’t help but wonder when it is expected to drop.
Netflix dips into the reality TV pool
Netflix is no dummy. The streaming giant knows where the money is. And, lately? The money has been in reality TV. This resulted in the release of The Circle and Love is Blind. The streaming giant, however, recently struck a deal with MTV. (And, CBS too it seems). As such, subscribers have started to see a few seasons of various reality TV shows drop into the streaming library.
As one of our writers previously reported in an opinion piece, subscribers have pretty mixed feelings about reality TV coming to Netflix. Some think the streaming giant is “selling out.” Others argue reality TV isn’t why they subscribe to Netflix.
That being said, a few seasons of a wide range of reality TV shows are making way to the Netflix library. And, this includes MTV’s Teen Mom 2.
Unsurprisingly, fans of MTV’s Teen Mom franchise are hoping for a little more details. Namely, they want a more specific drop date. When can we expect Teen Mom 2 to land in the streaming library? And, how many seasons of the series will Netflix be picking up?
Teen Mom 2 drops next month, but it is just a few seasons
According to Pop Culture, Netflix will be dropping just a few seasons of Teen Mom 2 into their library next month. To be more specific, Teen Mom 2 has a drop date of December 15th. Unfortunately, the streaming giant only managed to acquire two seasons of Teen Mom 2. Perhaps, if the streaming services sees big viewing numbers, they will approach MTV again for additional seasons.
We know Netflix will also pick up Season 10 and 13 of The Challenge, Season 1 and 2 of Are You The One? Other reality TV shows hitting Netflix next month include:
- VH1’s Black Ink Crew New York
- BBC’s Repair Shop
- VH1’s America’s Next Top Model
Netflix has also already dropped a few seasons of Survivor.
Probably isn’t as random as it seems
Now, as we mentioned previously, Netflix dropping a bunch of reality TV shows into the streaming library likely isn’t as random as it seems. In fact, subscribers can only assume Netflix went with a bunch of different types of reality TV shows to see what their subscribers like. This way Netflix knows what to invest money in moving forward.
That being said, will you be checking out Teen Mom 2 on Netflix on December 15th? How about some of the other shows? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
