Is it time to leave things in the past? Actress Felicity Huffman was part of the infamous 2019 college admissions scandal. But now, she’s just trying to move on and have a fruitful acting career again. Deadline learned the former Desperate Housewives star will appear in a new ABC comedy centered around baseball.

Becky Hartman Edwards penned the new project. It’s inspired by Susan Savage, who owns the Triple-A baseball team, the Sacramento River Cats.

Deadline describes the show as, “A funny, surprising and occasionally heartbreaking half-hour about love, loss, family and Triple-A baseball.” Felicity Huffman will play the main character who unexpectedly loses her husband and inherits his baseball team.

“This is the story of a woman navigating grief, local politics and the business of sports and learning not just to adjust, but to thrive,” Deadline continues.

Felicity Huffman Dishonestly Tried To Get Her Daughter Into College

Felicity Huffman pleaded guilty to her participation in the college admissions scandal back in May 2019. The prosecutors said that the actress paid $15,000 as a donation to the Key Worldwide Foundation. However, this was actually a payment to someone who masqueraded as Felicity’s daughter, Sophia. The person took the SAT for Sophia and got a strong SAT score.

The courts originally ordered Felicity to serve 14 days in prison, but she only served 11.

“I am ashamed of the pain I have caused my daughter, my family, my friends, my colleagues and the educational community,” the actress said at the time. “I want to apologize to them and, especially, I want to apologize to the students who work hard every day to get into college, and to their parents who make tremendous sacrifices to support their children and do so honestly.”

Full House star Lori Loughlin was also part of the scandal. She was reportedly “a wreck” in prison at first, but now it seems like she’s making friends.
