Catherine Lowe Reveals Feeling Like Sean Wouldn’t Be Attracted To Her
Fans of The Bachelor love power couple Sean and Catherine Lowe. They fell in love during his season of the show. Then, he proposed on the finale and finally they married. Today, they share three children. And they are happily in love even after all these years. But, when they met Catherine wasn’t initially sure Sean would be attracted to her. Why would she think this?

So, why didn’t Catherine think Sean would like her? Insider shared Catherine’s thoughts on the subject. Basically she wasn’t sure he would be attracted to her because of how she looked. Catherine is half Filipino and wasn’t sure Sean would be interested in having a diverse relationship.
She was dead wrong. Catherine also recently revealed that when she first joined the cast of The Bachelor she felt like she was simply checking a box because she was of a woman of color. The show didn’t realize its true need for diversity back then. Today, Catherine and others are acknowledging that the franchise is working towards building a more diverse cast. In fact, Matt James just finished filming the 2021 season of The Bachelor as the first Black leading man.
Catherine never realized when she joined Sean’s season how well her future would turn out. She said, “I didn’t think he’d be into me because of what I looked like.” She said, “But I was probably prejudiced against him too.” She added, “I was hoping he’d be attracted to a different race. And, gladly, he was.”
She has spoken out before about diversity on the show
This isn’t the first time Catherine has addressed diversity within the franchise. Catherine said, “When I was originally cast, I was very flattered but somewhat grounded by the fact that I would be one of the faces that represented people of color.” She also said, “I knew that one of the reasons I was probably chosen was because I was Filipino. I counted myself out to be his fiancée because of what I assumed Sean liked.”
She also said she allowed herself to fully embrace the experience. Catherine said, “Don’t count yourself out. You are destined to do bigger things than just check a box.”
Now that the franchise is understanding the need for more diversity, Catherine hopes more minorities will apply. Perhaps it will encourage others to put themselves out there.
Catherine Lowe recently answered whether or not she and Sean plan on having more children. She said they are actually considering adopting in the future.
