Erika Jayne wants spousal support from Tom Girardi

New details have emerged. On Tuesday, November 10, Us Weekly obtained the court documents on Erika Jayne and Tom Girardi’s divorce. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star is seeking spousal support from her estranged husband. The 49-year-old also wants the 81-year-old attorney to pay her legal fees. However, Erika has blocked Tom from seeking spousal support from her.

In the court documents, she cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason behind their split. Erika previously told Andy Cohen in June 2017 that she and Tom never signed a prenup.

“I don’t have a prenup. But let me tell you something, let me be very clear. I’m married to a very powerful lawyer,” Erika told Andy on Then & Now in 2018. “A prenup wouldn’t stand in his way anyway. So it doesn’t matter whether you had one or you didn’t, it’s gonna be all Tom’s way, I assure you. He’ll rip that piece of paper to shreds in two seconds!”

Tom is the famous attorney who was the inspiration for Julie Roberts’s film Erin Brockovich. Tom and Erika are known for their lavish lifestyle. It’s no secret that the reality star married him in order to improve her life. However, he’s been hit with lawsuits against his firm, Girardi & Keese, in recent years.

“Listen, we’re in the lawsuit business, baby. We sue and get sued,” Erika previously told Us Weekly in February 2019 about her husband’s legal troubles. “So what? So what? It’s part of the job.”

The couple was on different paths

Erika Jayne and Tom Girardi had an unconventional marriage. An insider told Us Weekly that they would go “several months” without spending time together.

“They would travel separately. Tom gave Erika a very lavish lifestyle, and she enjoyed it,” the insider told the outlet. “Erika has gained independence and confidence from being on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The exposure it has given for her singing career has given Erika a much larger fan base.”

Now, according to a new report, Erika moved out of their $7 million mansion that she lived in with Tom. She now lives in a $1 million condo in West Hollywood. Insiders close to the situation revealed to The Blast that Erika is living in a one-bedroom, one-bathroom pad that she rents for $7,000 a month.

“Erika has had another rental property in LA for some time, but it’s more of a clubhouse, so she’s been spending her time between the two properties,” the source said. “Things are a bit up-in-the-air at the moment, and they have a lot to discuss as they don’t have a prenup, but she will be looking for a home.”

Erika and Tom married in 1999 after dating for six months. Prior to their split, the pop star often defended their age-difference on RHOBH. Fans may see the fallout from Erika and Tom’s split on Season 11 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, which is currently in production.
