Tayshia Adams Finally Opens Up About Being ‘The Bachelorette’
Fans witnessed a historic episode of The Bachelorette this week. Clare Crawley fell hard and fast for Dale Moss. So hard that she didn’t want to continue the season. Clare told Dale her feelings and he reciprocated. And, the two got engaged. When she made her exit, Tayshia Adams made her entrance. Now, she’s finally letting the world in on how she feels about being the new Bachelorette.
Tayshia talks being the new Bachelorette
Entertainment Tonight shared all about Tayshia’s first official interview as the new lead. Her first interview was with Jimmy Kimmel following her entrance out of the limo Thursday night. She told Jimmy she got a phone call sometime over the summer asking her to step in. She wouldn’t give a specific date this happened. Of course, those following Reality Steve know he thinks Tayshia’s appearance was planned even before Clare started filming.
She said, “Honestly I got the phone call and it was more so, ‘Hey you’re the girl,’ and I’m like, ‘I got you.’ And I was there. I think everything was just kind of moving very quickly, and no, they didn’t share that news [of Clare’s abrupt ending] with me.”
After she received the call from producers she had little time to prepare. Tayshia said, “Number one, I have to go run a mile because I just ate two donuts, number two, I have to scream into a pillow because what the hell just happened, and number three, I have to call my mom. I haven’t put on makeup in literally three months, I need to go to CVS, I’m gonna be kissing boys I need a toothbrush, I need mouthwash…so I left within 48 hours or so.”
Yep, her mom was supposedly the only one who knew she was heading to Palm Springs to be The Bachelorette.

At the resort
Once she was at the resort she had to quarantine due to the pandemic. While she wouldn’t divulge how long she was in quarantine she said, “too long.” She also said she had to eat all her meals in her room so nobody would spot her.
Once Clare left she moved into the “El Presidente.” She now calls the suite “Tayshia’s Presidente.” Kimmel reminded her that Clare and Dale “made sweet love” in that same suite. She admits it crossed her mind when she first entered the suite. Tayshia said, “Good thing I saged the place, you know what I mean? We got some good juju in there.”
She also says she didn’t even get a chance to talk to Clare before she left. Tayshia said, “We didn’t speak, she had just gotten engaged so there was a lot going on. I wish we would’ve so she could’ve thrown me a bone and warned me about a guy or two!”
