Are Clare And Dale The Real Villains Of ‘The Bachelorette’?

Well, it turns out that Yosef Aborady is not the true villain of Season 16 of The Bachelorette. Fanatics of the dating competition think the lead herself, Clare Crawley, is the true villain this season. She fell in love with one of her suitors after just a few weeks of filming. During the Tuesday, October 27 episode, she basically shunned the attempts of any other man’s attention.

But she wasn’t alone in her behavior. The other men saw a different side of Dale Moss, the frontrunner for Clare’s love. In fact, a review by the New York Post dubs Dale as the new Bachelorette villain.

Why is Everyone Mad at Clare and Dale?

Do you believe in love at first sight? Clare Crawley clearly does. She was smitten with Dale Moss from moment one, when he wrapped her in a bear hug, literally lifting her off her feet. Of course he got the First Impression Rose.

Then he was part of the group date during this week’s episode. The pair snuck off together for a serious make-out session. In fact, they almost got busted by one of the other suitors. But Dale slinked out the door.

When the other men on the date confronted Dale, he made up a ridiculous story about getting lost on the way to the bathroom. Obviously, the men didn’t believe him and started to think something was up between Dale and Clare.

At the end of the night, Clare again gave the group date rose to Dale, ensuring he will stay in the competition.

But is there any competition? During a one-on-one date the next day, Clare wistfully said to the camera that she wishes she could see Dale again instead of going on a date with someone else.

By the end of the episode, the men of The Bachelorette were about to stage a walkout over Clare’s disinterest in anyone but Dale. The preview strongly implies that next week’s episode is the dramatic twist the show has been teasing: Clare (and presumably Dale,) quits the show.

Fans React to Clare as the ‘Villain of Her Own Season’

Clare Crawley is not unfamiliar to Bachelor Nation fans. We first met her in 2014 when she was on Juan Pablo’s season of The Bachelor. She famously told him off when he chose another contestant in the season finale.

She then went on to star in two seasons of Bachelor In Paradise, as well as Bachelor: Winter Games.

So, fans feel some type of way about Clare. One fan wrote that after all her experience with the ABC show, Clare should know that there is always a villain.

Tayshia’s The Bachelorette Debut

Even though everyone on social media already knew the answer, ABC kept mum about who would be replacing Clare Crawley as The Bachelorette. The show must go on, after all! During the Season 16 premiere, the show teased a woman stepping out of the limo, but never showed her face.

Well, in this week’s episode, the show FINALLY confirmed the rumors. It is, indeed, Bachelor Nation alum Tayshia Adams taking over for Clare. The show revealed it with an epic shot of bikini-clad Tayshia stepping out of a pool.

The Bachelorette will air on Thursday, November 5th due to the election coverage. After that, it will return to its Tuesday night timeslot on ABC.
