Did ‘The Bachelorette’ Clare Crawley Lie About Going to Prom?
Drama is already stirring surrounding this season of The Bachelorette. In Tuesday’s episode, Clare told one of the men she never went to her school proms. But, following the show, this set off some rumors. So, did Clare lie about going to the prom during high school?
Did Clare go to the prom?
US Weekly shared all about the initial allegations about Clare and the prom. Clare said, “I didn’t have the greatest high school experience either, to be honest. I never went to prom. Nobody ever asked me. Nobody even knew who I was in high school. I was just invisible, I think. I felt invisible.”
After telling Chasen nobody ever asked her to prom, a social media user spoke out saying that is false. She tweeted, “My husband took @clarecrawley to senior prom, @clarecrawley you went to prom. #bachelorette #clarecrawley #senior ball #1999 #hothusband.”
Clare saw the comments and snapped back. She said, “You do know there is more dances in high school that are NOT prom? Turns out it’s just someone digging up old photos. (Why she keeps her husband’s old dance pics I’m not sure). I went to a new school senior year and in fact DID NOT go to prom just like I said.”
She didn’t go to the prom
Following the drama, the original lady posting her husband took Clare to the prom posted a retraction. She admitted she made a mistake and her husband did not take Clare to the prom. She said it was another dance he took her to. And, she took responsibility for the mix-up and apologized.

Fans can count on Clare to be honest and to not hold back when she feels disrespected. She made this clear last night in her response about the prom. And, Clare also made it clear when she told the guys to not waste her time.
Clare sent Brandon packing after he couldn’t come up with a reason why he was there except that she was beautiful. Most of the men did their homework and knew things about Clare. Not Brandon and he paid the price for it.
This Bachelorette knows what she wants and refuses to settle for anything else. Her passion and drive are immeasurable and this season is truly like no other.
Fans can’t wait to see how it all plays out and if she finds the love she’s been searching for.
