Bachelorette Tayshia Adams is speaking out about her first marriage. She is sharing that she did everything possible to try and make it work. And, everything included counseling. Tayshia has said before she never wanted a divorce. However, sometimes things just don’t work the way one plans.
Tayshia talks about first marriage
In a recent podcast, Tayshia opened up some about her first marriage to Josh Bourelle. US Weekly shared details about what she had to say to Hannah Ann Sluss and Joe Amabile. Tayshia said when it came time to go on The Bachelor in 2018 she was completely ready for the journey. And, she was completely ready because she knew she did everything she could to try and make her first marriage work. She had closure because of this huge effort she put forth in trying to save it.
Tayshia said, “When things were getting really bad, we were like, OK, we need to go see a counselor. Actually, that was my doing, because I knew I needed to do absolutely everything in order to know that was the end of the road.”
Divorce was not something Tayshia ever wanted. She believes marriage is forever. And, she did give the marriage her all. The two tried counseling, but ultimately they just couldn’t get through their differences.
She said, “At that point, you kind of walk through some things and you try as hard as you can, but you can’t force someone to love you. So, if you do that for a couple of months and it’s still not working, you’re trying to do everything you can and the other person’s not … You gotta go your own separate way.”
She and Josh were married nearly two years before getting divorced. Prior to their marriage the couple dated for four years. So, it was definitely not something they rushed into. They married in February 2016 and their divorce was final in November 2017.
She wants to find love
Following her divorce, Tayshia came in as runner-up on Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor. Following that she went on Bachelor in Paradise where she pursued a relationship with John Paul Jones. That relationship didn’t work out either. Now, it appears she is getting another shot and this time on her own terms. Rumors have been flying Tayshia takes over as The Bachelorette following Clare Crawley’s departure. Will she finally find her true match? She’s definitely ready and fans are hoping this journey leads her to love.
