Chrisley, Reality TV

Chrisley Knows Best beauty, Savannah Chrisley, gives a sweet tribute to her mama, Julie Chrisley.

Why is Savannah Chrisley shining a light on her mom?

Heartwarmingly, Savannah Chrisley shares her feelings about her mother in an Instagram post. Astoundingly, not only does the post serve as an example of many of the reasons why Savannah loves her mom, but it also highlights that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Seemingly with education and awareness in mind, Savannah begins her post with statistics about breast cancer. Alarmingly, “On average, every 2 minutes a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer in the United States,” shares Savannah. Heartbreakingly, she also writes that “This year, an estimated 42,170 women will die from breast cancer in the U.S.”

Additionally, on a personal note, Savannah recollects on Julie’s diagnosis with breast cancer in 2012. Consequently, Savannah shares that her mother underwent a double mastectomy “and many other procedures.” However, seemingly in awe of her mother, Savannah writes, “mama Julie laid down the law and insisted that everyone’s lives remain as normal as possible and she wanted no sympathy from anyone.” In summary, Savannah writes, “That’s just my strong willed mama for you.”

During that time our routine barely changed…mama Julie laid down the law and insisted that everyone’s lives remain as normal as possible and she wanted no sympathy from anyone. That’s just my strong willed mama for you. During her battle with breast cancer, I NEVER ONCE saw her complain when she had every reason to. This woman…she’s a Proverbs 31 woman and she is MY MAMA! With the help of the good Lord above and the amazing team of doctors at Johns Hopkins my mama kicked cancers butt!! But sadly…there are soooo many families that don’t get to say that and for those families…my heart breaks. What resources are available for breast cancer?

While there may not be easily accessible healthcare for everyone, there are breast cancer resources available in the United States. Notably are the Susan G. Koman Foundation and the National Breast Cancer Foundation. If you or someone you know needs resources, the Susan G. Koman Foundation lists them here. Additionally, the National Breast Cancer Foundation lists resources on their website. Of note is their directory of free educational guides, the National Mammography Program, and the Patient Navigator Program.

Above all, Savannah is able to not only show her appreciation, love, and respect for her mother, but she drew attention to a significant problem in the United States (and around the world). Stay tuned to TV Shows Ace for more Chrisley Knows Best and other reality television news.
