‘Variety’ Editor DENIES Jax Taylor’s Claims About Season 9 of ‘Pump Rules’

A recent announcement from Jax Taylor made Vanderpump Rules fans very excited. He said that the Bravo show would resume filming sometime this month. However, he may have jumped the gun with his announcement.

Lisa Vanderpump’s SUR Restaurant FINALLY Reopens

Season 8 of Vanderpump Rules wrapped up in June with a three-part reunion. Between Part 2 and Part 3, Bravo cleaned house by firing four stars. Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute were among those with walking papers. The two were fired for racially insensitive behavior.

In March, the coronavirus pandemic struck, essentially shuttering restaurants across the country. While some areas have completely reopened, California is taking it slow. SUR just opened earlier this month, but only to outdoor dining. Without the restaurant open, Bravo wasn’t able to film Vanderpump Rules, which revolves around the eatery’s staff.

But with the news of SUR reopening, fans are ITCHING for any news about a possible Season 9. Bravo has yet to confirm or deny if the show will even return after the mass firings.

Jax Taylor Spills the Tea About Season 9 of Pump Rules

Vanderpump Rules fans got a glimmer of hope this weekend when Jax Taylor did a Q&A on Instagram Live. The former model spilled the tea that the show will resume production in October.

Since Jax seemed to be ‘in the know,’ fans thought he was confirming his return to the show. Many fans feel that Jax Taylor deserved to be fired just as much, or moreso, than Stassi and Kristen. Not only has he made racially insensitive comments, he has made homophobic and transphobic comments, too.

Despite Andy Cohen promising in June more action from Bravo, no one else from Vanderpump Rules has been let go.

Variety Editor: Not So Fast

Jax may have spoken too soon. Reality Blurb caught a social media exchange between an editor from a trustworthy entertainment publication and a fan. Variety’s editor-at-large, Kate Aurthur, shot down Jax’s claims on Twitter. She wrote that, “According to Bravo, neither of these things is true.”

Reality Blurb points out that it’s not clear which of two things aren’t true. Is she implying that Jax won’t return for Season 9? Or is Bravo simply denying that the show will return at all, let alone film this month?

‘The Toms’ Likely Part of Vanderpump Rules if Bravo Continues Show

Another fan chimed in about a communication they had with Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz. The fan writes that they were “on a Huddls[sic] with the Toms in Aug.” At the time, the two Toms also guessed October for a filming start. However, the Variety editor said that didn’t mean Jax was correct.

Rather, “Any new version of the show would include” the two Toms.

Even if Jax doesn’t return to Pump Rules, he is still friendly with several of his co-stars. In fact, he got an invite to Stassi Schroeder’s top-secret wedding last month, Us Weekly reports.

The Pump Rules alum let the cat out of the bag about her nuptials on October 7, which was supposed to be her wedding day until coronavirus struck.
