Monique Samuels is still dealing with the fallout from her fight. She and Candiace Dillard‘s tussle has had a ton of fallout. One aftereffect, according to Monique, is that some of her castmates want her fired.
“They met off-camera and had a little meeting and I think that it was very strategic, what they decided to do,” Samuels told Us Weekly. “They looked at this as an opportunity to possibly get me off the show.”
Monique added there are several layers to why the fight went down. At the same time, she said Candiace acts like the victim now. However, Monique is clear her costar isn’t a victim.
The RHOP star claimed Candiace and her attorneys are waging a PR battle.
“She has said that I’m mentally unstable. She has said that I’m unfit to be a mother and parent. That’s a whole lot coming from someone who was supposed to be a friend. So that just seems to me that you were never a friend.”
The two haven’t spoken since the fight in 2019. At least not directly.
Both reality stars have claimed second-degree assault. A judge dismissed both charges in December of 2019.
Monique Samuels ‘Did Enough Damage’
As to the claims that the RHOP cast wants her Monique fired? Candiace thinks a termination is warranted. Indeed, she thinks people have seen the proof that should create an exit.
“This all could have been avoided if she had kept her hands to herself, or at the very least, owned that she lost control,” Dillard added. “Instead, she chose to tell anyone who would listen that I provoked her by throwing a glass. We’ve all now seen the footage.”
However, for now, showrunners aren’t removing Monique. Whether or not she’ll stick long term is anyone’s guess.
The two have said they both want closure in a reunion episode. However, reconciliation doesn’t appear to be on the horizon.
Questions Around RHOP Continue
While Candiace outed herself as someone who wants Monique gone, it’s unclear if she is the sole member of the cast calling for heads to roll. No other Housewives clearly stated they wanted her fired. That’s likely one reason she’s still around.
Other members did voice concern over the fight. Even the women’s husbands voiced their displeasure.
Reality television makes its living off of drama. The showrunners appear ready to allow the drama surrounding the fight to continue.
One big question surrounding the program heading into a new season is how Monique will mesh with costars she doesn’t trust. She singled out Candiace most recently, however she aluded to other RHOP members going behind her back.
She believes they tried to get her fired. More bad blood could be on the horizon for Monique Samuels and The Real Housewives of the Potomac. Bravo recently dropped the midseason trailer.
