Erika Jayne Trolled For Addressing The Presidential Age Limit

Bravo, News, Reality TV

RHOBH fans didn’t like it when Erika Jayne got political on Twitter. Everybody was talking about the Presidential Debates on Tuesday night. Most of them took to social media to share their thoughts. The RHOBH co-star was just one of the many celebrities who offered input.

However, it landed her in hot water with fans. It all started when Erika sided with Brandi Glanville on Twitter. As fans know, the two became allies. She sided with Brandi in her drama with Denise Richards. During Season 10 of RHOBH, Brandi alleged she hooked up with Denise the first night they met.

Erika was just one of the many women who sided with Brandi. Now, the two are agreeing on politics.

Erika Jayne trolled for talking about the presidency age requirement

On Tuesday, September 29, the Pretty Mess author liked one of Brandi Glanville’s tweets. On the night of the first Presidential Debates, Brandi tweeted that there should be a “a new law that no one over 65 should be able to be president.” Erika liked Brandi’s post and one RHOBH fan took notice.

“It’s rich that @erikajayne likes this tweet given that’s her demographic for her husband,” the user wrote.

“It’s not rich, it’s honest,” Erika fired back. “No one over 65 should be President. My husband is not running for office.”

Trolls took to Erika’s tweet. They said she’s married to an older man. Others remindered her that her husband is an 81-year-old lawyer. Some shamed her for her music career. Here are just some of the responses:

  • “Ok then, no one over 40 should be in a broadway musical. See how that cuts?”
  • “It’s not rich, it’s honest that maybe a 32-year age difference shouldn’t be matrimony or you shouldn’t have bullied Denise.”
  • “Oh cmon Erika…I like u but that’s just ageism.”
  • “Great-Grand Husband Can’t Run at All [sic].”
  • “And you shouldn’t be on our tv screens.”

Needless to say, it got ugly. Despite the controversy, Erika’s tweet received over 2,000 likes. So it’s apparent that most fans side with her on the age limit for presidential candidates. Meanwhile, others continue to come for her because of her age difference with her husband.

Tom Girardi hit with lawsuit

This backlash comes after her husband, Thomas Girardi, is hit with a lawsuit for fraud. According to the documents obtained by The Blast, the Law Offices of Robert P. Finn filed a lawsuit against Thomas and his law firm Girardi & Keese. The lawsuit accuses him of breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, and fraud.

The plaintiff claims that Thomas created “a scheme to keep Plaintiff unaware that they had received fees from the TXI cases and prevented Plaintiff from learning that the money for fees and costs had been received by Defendants.”

Fans previously slammed Erika Jayne for not being honest about her lavish lifestyle. Last year, a lender named Stillwell Madison sued the couple for $3 million. The lender accused Thomas and his law firm of taking out a loan for $5 million in 2016. The lender accused Tom of failing not to pay back the loan. That lawsuit is still ongoing.
