Netflix’s ‘The Haunting Of Bly Manor’ Coming Soon, Creepy Second Trailer Released

Netflix horror series The Haunting of Bly Manor

Horror fans no doubt remember The Haunting of Hill House, the first in a horror anthology series on Netflix. The next in the series is The Haunting of Bly Manor, and Netflix has released its second chilling trailer for the series. Moreover, this trailer is even scarier than the first!

Netflix Original: The Haunting of Bly Manor

The second in the Haunting anthology is also the work of Mike Flanagan and his creative team. Flanagan is well known for his iconic work, especially relating to things that go bump in the night. A number of cast members from the original appear in new roles, while the story is in no way connected to the first.

Here is the first teaser trailer released for The Haunting of Bly Manor, which in itself is pretty darn creepy:

What is the story about?

The new anthology series is based loosely around the 1898 horror novella by Henry James, The Turn of the Screw. Victoria Pedretti , who played the older Nell Crain in Hill House, stars as the lead character, Dani Clayton. Dani is an American nanny, hired to care for two orphaned children, Miles and Flora Wingrave, played by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth and Amelie Bea Smith respectively.

Henry Wingrave (Henry Thomas) hires Dani to care for his orphaned niece and nephew, Miles and Flora. This is after the death of their former caretaker (Tahirah Sharif), who had died on the grounds of the family manor.  The Haunting of Bly Manor also stars Kate Siegel and Oliver Jackson-Cohen.

Bly Manor is currently occupied by the mansion’s chef Owen (Rahul Kohli), the housekeeper Mrs. Grose  (T’Nia Miller) and its groundskeeper, Jamie (Amelia Eve). However, as can be seen from the trailer, this creepy mansion has other, much scarier residents. The ancient walls of the Bly Manor hide centuries of dark secrets, loss and love, just waiting to be unearthed.

Scary new trailer for The Haunting of Bly Manor

The new trailer begins with suspenseful and mournful music, while young Flora is first revealed, standing near a pond. We then see Flora playing with a doll’s house in her room, designed as a miniature Bly Manor. The music becomes even more intense as Flora walks down a dark hallway with a scary mask in hand. She then proceeds to put that mask on someone… or something. We hear her say “There you are. Now let’s come up with a story,” as the screen goes dark.

Dani appears, trying to comfort the two children over the loss of their parents. She speaks to them, saying “I know what loss is. Your parents loved you so, so much.” She then tells Flora, “In a way, they’ll always be here.”

Having somebody else’s dream

Next, a series of dark and creepy images appear, as the housekeeper, Mrs Grose, says, “It’s going to sound strange, but I’m having somebody else’s dream… the dead.” After a series of frightening, goose-bump erupting, supernatural activity, a male character states, “The people here… they’re born here… they die here.” He continues, saying, “I have seen things. It’s like I am in Hell.”

As noted by Radio Times, the trailer closes with Dani, looking startled and scared as a pair of hands close on her waist while she cleans the dishes. View the new trailer for the Netflix series below.
