Molly-Mae Hague giveaway fight

‘Love Island’ Star Molly-Mae Hague Rebuts Claims Of Giveaway Unfairness

News, Reality TV

Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague is fighting back against online trolls. Not long after she completed a fan giveaway she had to defend herself against claims it “wasn’t fair.”

That giveaway saw fans get merchandise worth around $10,000. Cosmo reports the reality star bought everything herself. Despite the generous gifts, some didn’t think there were enough winners.

Indeed, there were over three million entries. One Instagram user was named. However, the Love Island star said nothing was untoward in how she chose the winner.

In order to enter, followers had to like the post announcing the contest. They also had to subscribe to Molly-Mae’s YouTube Channel. They also had to follow @mollymaehague and her tanning range @filterbymollymae on Instagram.

While the number of steps to enter seems excessive, it’s important to remember the giveaway did not have a sponsor. Molly-Mae purchased everything on her own.

Love Island fans claim Molly-Mae didn’t carry out the contest correctly

Contest winners notified Monday got Louis Vitton bags, Apple products, and skincare lotions from Hague’s personal line. She said she spent the last week working out how to determine the victor. She announced they paired the millions of entries down to 25. They then used a random number generator for the final draw.

Fans were quick to let Molly-Mae know they weren’t happy about the process.

“I can’t believe she’s done this. Literally over 3 million people entered and she chooses 25 names? Like, just no!” one follower said on Twitter.

“Is it just or me or was the Molly-Mae giveaway kinda unfair? Cause she said to enter the giveaway do this and that which 2mil+ did but she only used the random generator on 25 ppl so only they had a chance of winning tbh.. I don’t think this was executed very well,” another wrote.

Another saw unfairness in using the number generator on just 25 people. They correctly pointed out she didn’t explain how they got down from three million.

Molly-Mae responds to criticism

After her followers cried foul, the reality tv personality was quick to explain. She said she couldn’t user a number generator on the millions who entered. Hague and her team worked long and hard to find the best way to carry out the giveaway. They eventually felt their method was the best way to go about the contest.

Not long after she responded, some followers were quick to come to her defense.

“Really baffles me how salty some people are about losing @mollymaehague giveaway,” one fan responded.

“1. She did what most celebs would never do and we should appreciate her for that 2. Be happy for someone else, it really isn’t that hard,” another wrote.

The reaction to a giveaway that was funded from her own pocket could serve as a lesson to the Love Island star.
