‘DWTS’ Chrishell Stause Has Been Engaged Twice, Married Once: Who Are They?
Dancing With The Stars fans may find Chrishell Stause charming and lovely. But, they may not know much about the actress and real estate agent, and reality star’s personal life, except that she previously was married to Justin Hartley.
The Selling Sunset star has been engaged twice, and married once. A source close to her has recently said that she is interested in finding love again. But, what do we know about this DWTS’s love life?
Matthew Morrison Allegedly Felt ‘Pressured’ To Propose To Chrishell Stause
Before her shock divorce from Justin Hartley, Chrishell Stause had a very public breakup with her fiancé Matthew Morrison. According to The Sun, back in 2006, Chrishell Stause started dating Glee actor Matthew Morrison. By 2007, he proposed. But, the publication alleges that the Broadway star “felt pressured” to propose to the Days star.
They report he allegedly told Cosmopolitan that he felt “under pressure from society” to propose. Morrison started to question his life’s timeline and wondered when he needed to get married and have children. He says he “regretted” proposing right after he did it.
Then things got worse. The story goes that Chrishell broke off the engagement because Matthew was seeing other people. This includes his Glee co-star, Lea Michele. She told Star magazine, which was reported by the SFGate, “I decided to break off our engagement because I believed he was seeing other people and just wasn’t ready to fully commit.”
Now, the original Star interview is forever deleted. That same month, Matthew Morrison told interviewers that he and Chrishell’s friendship/relationship was peachy keen. He told Parade, “And now there’s this one about my ex-fiancee going to the tabloids, which so isn’t true.”
But, anyone who watched Selling Sunset knows that Chrishell Stause was not happy with her relationship with Matthew Morrison. On the show she said, “And I didn’t know what I wanted because actually, if I ended up with the person I was with when I was 25, I would want to kill myself… Yeah you can Google that!”
Chrishell then said, “You were a d**k! Sorry!” We know she was pointing her finger at the Finding Neverland star.
Chrishell Stause Found Love, Marriage With Justin Hartley
On October 28, 2013, Chrishell Stause went on her first date with Justin Hartley. According to People, the two had met in passing. Both had been on soaps and that is a small and intimate world. But, one of Stause’s Days cast mates thought that the two were perfect for each other and suggested they go out on a date.
They met at a concert and wound up talking all night. This was such a big moment that the next day, Chrishell texted a friend, “I found him.” The This Is Us star shared the same sentiments, telling the publication, “I knew right away.”

DTWS Blindsided By Divorce Filing
This was such a memorable day that the two married on this date in 2017. Sadly, almost exactly two years later, Justin filed for divorce. We don’t know the particulars in this divorce. But, such things as Justin was weary of Chrishell’s jealousy over Justin’s female costars. Knowing Chrishell’s previous breakup history with Matthew Morrison, this is understandable. This can have lasting affects.
Then, there were also rumors that she was ready for a family, while he wanted to focus on scaling up his career.
She has stated that on the day that he filed for divorce, they had a fight. Chrishell Stause was ready to leave the house and the Y&R alum texted her that it was over. She said that she picked up her things and headed out the door, never to return.
Somewhere in there, she did talk to him. Once. She thought he was kidding, but Justin Hartley was serious. Then, 45-minutes later, it was all over the news. Chrishell had barely had time to contact her attorney and wrap her head around this news. This perfect relationship was over.
