Will Kate Gosselin Pursue Custody Of Collin Amid Abuse Allegations?

Jon & Kate Plus 8 is no longer airing new episodes on TLC, but fans remain obsessed with the Gosselin family and all of their drama. To date, we know Jon Gosselin has custody over Collin and Hannah. Kate presently has custody of their other six children. And, we also know Jon has been very vocal about how Kate previously treated their son. The question is… Does Jon treat Collin any differently? Turns out, that might not be the case. But, this is noting more than allegations at this point.

Collin recently accused Jon of abuse, but he denies it.

Now, we’ve already briefly touched on the fact that Collin recently accused his father of being physically abuse. Jon, however, insists it is not true. Though, chances are pretty good, there aren’t too many situations where someone abusing a child actually admits to it. Moreover, it seems a little strange that Collin would say his father was abusing him if it wasn’t true. But, some wonder if it was something Collin said out of a moment of anger. Because, it does happen.

According to People Magazine, Collin suggests he just wears a mask in the happy family photos. While he has since deleted it the post alleging abuse, it wasn’t before a lot of people saw and quoted it.

My dad is a liar. Yesterday he beat me up and thought nothing of it, he punched me in the face and gave me a swollen nose and I started bleeding. He then continued to kick me in the ribs after I was on the floor. He is a liar.”

A source speaking to People Magazine revealed the incident Colin spoke of involved a fight over his father’s car. The source claims Colin got very upset. And, when they got home, Jon placed his son in a “headlock” before he proceeded to strike him in the manner Collin described in his deleted Instagram post.

It does sound as though child protective services was contacted over the incident.

Fans wonder if Kate will go after custody of Collin

Kate has also spoken to People Magazine since the alleged incident happened. She noted there was never a good reason to kick a child.

I don’t want to hear any excuses from anyone, not from his father, not from local law enforcement, not from court personnel whose job is supposedly to ensure the best interests of my children.”

Kate Gosselin also made it clear she doesn’t feel comfortable with any of her children being around Jon. Does this mean she might try to regain custody of Collin over the alleged incident?

Fans don’t think Kate Gosselin should gain custody of her son.

Followers of the family have pretty mixed feelings about the situation. Largely, they don’t appear to be onboard with Kate Gosselin pursuing custody of Collin. In fact, many think he might be better with a third party. Some, however, don’t believe Jon did anything to hurt his son.

“Does this narc think that the public doesnt know how she works.. shell milk this for all its worth.” One follower penned in the comments of a recent Instagram post. Here’s what others had to say about it.

  • “Hilarious that this known child abuser is now flapping her gums.”
  • “Sweetie, you shipped Collin off and wrote him off.”
  • “His Dad took him in and loved him. Kids act out and lie. Let’s not convict Jon without all the facts.”
  • “Why are you so outraged when you abused him for so long and left him locked up for years without seeing him?”
  • “Stop pretending to care about your kids.”

Presently, it doesn’t seem like followers of the family think Kate would be a better alternative for Collin. For now, we can only hope authorities are making sure what Collin said in the now deleted post about his father wasn’t true.
