‘DWTS’: To Mask Or Not To Mask? That Is The Question

Safety is the top concern on Dancing With The Stars this season. When the show returns for Season 29 on September 14, fans can expect several changes. For starters, there won’t be a studio audience this year. While this is certainly disappointing, it’s in everyone’s best interests.

Fans wondered whether or not the DWTS contestants need to wear masks. According to Yahoo! Entertainment, the professional dancers and celebrity contestants will be testing for COVID-19 every day. As such, they won’t need to wear masks while competing. That may be for the best anyway. It can’t be easy to dance with a mask on.

Other safety measures include asking competitors to quarantine up until the premiere. This includes asking married couples to live separately. The DWTS exec team is really serious about minimizing the risk of infection.

One DWTS Contestant Rocks a Unique Mask Anyway

However, masks are still required in other parts of the rehearsal studio. Celebrity contestant Carole Baskin of Tiger King fame was recently spotted with a cute cat-themed mask as she left the DWTS set.

“Hey all you cool cats and kittens,” it reads. That’s one of Baskin’s signature sayings. DWTS fans are really eager to see how she will perform this season.

According to PEOPLE, she initially turned down the offer to join the show. However, her daughter changed her mind. Now, Baskin is eager to get on the floor.

“I’m going to put my heart and soul into winning the Mirror Ball because the longer I can stay on the show, the more the plight of big cats will be kept in the public eye,” Baskin explained. “I’m hoping that seeing me go way out of my comfort zone will encourage everyone to call their Senators and House members in support of our bill at BigCatAct.com.”

The article goes on to say Baskin is watching dance tutorial videos and getting serious about her training. But Baskin isn’t the only Netflix star ready to compete.

Chrishell Stause Says She Has “Nothing To Lose”

Like Carole Baskin, Selling Sunset‘s Chrishell Stause doesn’t have much dance experience. However, that’s not going to stop her.

Chrishell Stause lost both her parents within the past year and a half and also went through a high-profile divorce. Now, she just wants to have a great time on the dance floor.

“I’m hoping this will be a new chapter, something positive,” Stause told ET. “An experience I can kinda throw myself into and just kind of learn a new skill and have fun at the same time. I have no dance experience, so it’s going to at least be a laugh for all of us.”

This new season is shaping up to be really awesome! Don’t forget to tune in.
