Most of the stars were just announced for Season 29 of Dancing With the Stars. However, former Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe has had more time to prepare for her role. She found out she would finally be competing when her season of The Bachelorette re-aired on The Bachelor GOAT. Now, she is in Los Angeles and prepping for her big premiere. And, she is sharing with fans what she’s actually doing to make sure she is totally prepared for September 14.

Kaitlyn shares how this opportunity saved her

E! News shared what Kaitlyn had to say about preparing for DWTS. Kaitlyn has had more time to prepare than the other contestants on the show. And, she is ready to go! She has wanted this opportunity for a long time now. Plus, Kaitlyn is dishing on even more than just dancing. She even opened up some about boyfriend Jason Tartick and the possibility of having children.

She said, “I always said like when I’m getting to that point, you know like, when I’m a year out from having a family or two years, I really want to feel like I’m in the best shape of my life, to feel strong and to go into a healthy pregnancy. With quarantine, everyone’s just horizontal, watching TV and just going through their own transition of ‘What is life,’ and I think everyone kind of went into like a mode of ‘Okay, well I can sleep in or I can lay on the couch and I can do whatever.'”

The news she would finally be granted a spot on DWTS pulled her out of a near quarantine depression. The coronavirus was getting to everyone and that included Kaitlyn. She said, I just wasn’t feeling my best,” she said. “My anxiety was coming back, depression was starting to hit because of obviously what’s happening in the world. Then I got news of going to pursue a dream of mine and I was like, ‘this is like the kick in the butt I needed to get myself in gear, in shape, to just feel so strong. So I started immediately and it definitely has paid off over the last 15 weeks.”

However, even with intense workouts, she still splurges. She said she will not be giving up her wine or her Sunday trips to McDonald’s.

She’s ready and vows to stay humble

Kaitlyn says she is not looking at her history with dance as giving her any sort of advantage over anyone else. She said, “I just wanted to go into this like as humble as possible because I don’t want to be like ‘Well I grew up a dancer, so I’m going to crush this. Yeah, I grew up doing ballet and jazz and tap, but I stopped at the age of 25, and I’ve never stepped foot in a ballroom. I’m terrified.”

As far as workouts, Kaitlyn has been doing boxing training, physical therapy and weight lifting. Other than her Sunday splurges at McDonald’s she says she eats pretty healthy.

She doesn’t have much longer before her dancing journey begins. And, Jason will be there to cheer her on through the whole thing.

Dancing With the Stars premieres September 14 on ABC.
