Below Deck Med star Captain Sandy Yawn is standing by her decision to fire chief stew Hannah Ferrier. During an exclusive interview with E! News, the reality star talked about this season’s explosive firings. Not only did Hannah get the boot, but so did chef Hindrigo “Kiko” Lorran.

At the start of the season, second stewardess Lara Flumiani quit. But the high turnover is normal for the yachting industry, according to Sandy. She also revealed whether she would work with Hannah again. As for Hannah’s firing, she has no qualms about getting rid of the chief stewardess. See what she has to say about the matter.

Captain Sandy Yawn wouldn’t work with Hannah Ferrier again

During her chat with E! News, Captain Sandy talked about the turbulent season of Below Deck Med. While she wishes Hannah Ferrier well, she revealed that she would never work with her again.

“I prefer to work with people I can trust and that’s really it, to be honest,” she told E! News.

Sandy said she has “no regrets” about firing Hannah. She also doesn’t mind how the firing was handled. Sandy fired Hannah after she noticed an unregistered prescription for Valium and a CBD pen in her belongings. Hannah previously told E! News that she feels her firing “was handled in a very poor way.”

However, Sandy doesn’t see it that way. She feels that it was Hannah’s time to go. As Below Deck Med fans know, Sandy asked Hannah why she wasn’t acting like herself lately. Sandy  grew tired of Hannah’s lack of enthusiasm.

“If someone hates their job and if someone, you know, constantly just goes against authority or… Hannah, I wish the very best,” Sandy explained. “She admittedly hates yachting, so when you have that mix, it’s hard to stay focused.”

Sandy says she has to focus on her clients, calling them her “number one priority.” The reality star prefers to work with people who are “serious about their careers” and “are interested in learning from me.” Sandy loves to work with passionate people, and that’s why it didn’t work with Hannah.

She doesn’t regret firing Below Deck Med alum

Hannah Ferrier seems to be doing better these days. She announced in June that she’s expecting her first child with longtime boyfriend, Joshua. Hannah has left the yachting industry behind and has never looked better. Below Deck Med fans would say she won in the end.

As for Sandy, she has “no regrets” with firing Hannah. She claimed that she has “no regrets” and insisted that her priorities were about the client. That was the final straw in their difficult work relationship. During the interview, Sandy teased that Season 5 is the most dramatic season yet.

“The reality is yachts go through crew,” Sandy continued. “Once you find the crew that really gel together then you have a great season and sometimes you just have an off season.”

As for this season, Sandy said she would love to work with Alex Radcliffe, Bugsy Drake, Jessica More, Malia White, and Robert Westergaard again. However, she didn’t say anything about new chef Tom Checketts.

Below Deck Med airs Monday nights at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
