Three More ‘DWTS’ Contestant Confirmed; Who is Joining AJ McLean For Season 29?
Fans of ABC’s Dancing With The Stars are ready for the new season to start. But first, the hit show has to announce the celebrities contending on the dance competition. The DWTS pros were announced last week. You can read the complete list here.
But who will be their celebrity partners?!
Two Previously Confirmed Stars
ABC shocked fans earlier this summer with the random announcement that The Bachelorette alum Kaitlyn Bristowe will appear on the new season of DWTS. She previously said Bachelor Nation head honcho, Mike Fleiss, wouldn’t allow it when she was cast on an earlier season.
DWTS pro Artem Chigvintsev recently revealed that he was supposed to be Kaitlyn’s partner back then. His revelation leads fans to believe Artem and Kaitlyn will be partners in the upcoming season. ABC hasn’t announced if the cast list and their pairing will be revealed at the same time.
In addition to Kaityln, Backstreet Boy AJ McLean confirmed the rumors that he’s joining DWTS. Cheryl Burke teased fans that her partner has dancing experience and notable facial hair. Could her partner be AJ?
The usual online chatter ahead of a new season is oddly quiet ahead of Season 29. It’s caused speculation that ABC is having a hard time finding stars amid the coronavirus.
However, Us Weekly exclusively confirmed three more DWTS contestants days before the official announcement. Joining AJ and Kaitlyn are:
Former Soap Star Anne Heche Joins DWTS

One name on the cast list that may not be familiar to many fans is Anne Heche. The actress is more famous for her personal life than her acting career. She was in a three-year relationship with Ellen DeGeneres. Anne Heche also hooked up with her Men in Trees co-star James Tupper while married. She ended up divorcing her husband and marrying James Tupper, though they are now separated.
Anne Heche played the dual role of twins on Another World before she went on to movies. She starred in Donnie Brasco, Volcano and other movies. Anne played the role of Marian Crane in the 1998 Psycho remake.
The actress was recently asked to weigh in on Ellen amid accusations of a toxic workplace. However, Anne demurred, saying she hadn’t spoken to her ex in many years.
NFL Retiree Vernon Davis

As DWTS fans know, there is almost always a pro-athlete or two on each season. This season, former NFL player Vernon Davis will be dancing for a shot at the Mirrorball Trophy.
At the height of his football career, Vernon Davis helped lead the Broncos to a Superbowl win. After the Superbowl 50 win, he signed on with the Washington Redskins. He played out his career with the Redskins until he retired in 2020 after an injury.
Desperate Housewives Alum Jesse Metcalfe

The third DWTS Season 29 celebrity confirmed by Us Weekly is Jesse Metcalfe. The actor got his start on the NBC soap Passions. However, he is most known for his role as hot gardener John Rowland on Desperate Housewives. His character had an affair with Gabrielle Solis, played by Eva Longoria.
He went on to star in the movie John Tucker Must Die. Jesse most recently starred alongside Bruce Willis in Hard Kill. Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent also plays a role in the movie.
More celebrity names may come out in the next few days. Among the unconfirmed celebrities appearing on DWTS are Carole Baskin and Charlie Sheen. The official announcement airs on Good Morning America on Wednesday, September 2nd.
