‘DDWTD’: Karen Derrico Joins Celebs Mourning Chadwick Boseman
DDWTD star, Karen sounded so upbeat about school restarting. But, a day later, her joy turned to sadness. Like so many other celebrities, she mourns the passing of Chadwick Boseman. The Black Panther star died after a long fight against colon cancer.
DDWTD – Karen Derrico heartbroken after Chadwick Boseman’s death
The Doubling Down with the Derricos star shared her grief on Instagram on Friday night. Karen shared a photo of him. In her caption, she wrote, “I’m at a loss for words at the moment 💔. Fellow South Carolinian. My children’s hearts are broken. My prayers go out to his wife, family and friends. Rest in power, @chadwickboseman 🤍.”
“As Black Panther, he was also a superhero to many,” Page Six noted. So, it’s no wonder that the DDWTD kids feel his loss. The outlet reported that numerous celebrities shared their grief at the loss of Chadwick. Mark Ruffalo, The Hulk in the MCU, commented on Twitter. He said, “All I have to say is the tragedies amassing this year have only been made more profound by the loss of #ChadwickBoseman.”
Fans reacted to Doubling Down with the Derricos post
TLC fans responded to Karen’s post. One follower wrote, “So extremely sad, he made us South Carolinians so proud. 💔🙏🏾.” Another one noted, “Rest in Power King.” Others said they too, feel very sad at Chadwick’s passing. Sadly, Chadwick seems way too young to die. Aged just 43, his life got cut short in such a tragic way.
The official Twitter for The Back Panther on Twitter also shared their sentiments. The tweet read, “Our hearts are broken and our thoughts are with Chadwick Boseman’s family. Your legacy will live on forever. Rest In Peace.” Nearly two million people replied to the post in an outpouring of sorrow. One fan noted, “Please please please don’t recast and retire the character out of respect to this man who passed away from us.” Like Karen Derrico of DDWTD, many of the comments came from other celebrities.

Representing black people across the world
Of course, Chadwick played an iconic role in black culture. He always felt so proud that he presented his people in such an amazing storyline. In their own way, the Derricos do that as well. When TLC brought their story to the screen, they revealed a beautiful family. Not everyone relates to all those kids on DDWTD, but they relate to the appeal of good people.

Fans of Doubling Down with the Derricos feel pain at loss at the loss of Chadwick. But they also understand why Karen’s kids feel so heartbroken as well. No doubt, a lot of fans pray for those little kids to find some comfort on this very sad day.
