Joy Duggar & Austin Forsyth Finally Reveal Baby’s Name
On Thursday evening, Joy Duggar and Austin Forsyth officially shared their baby girl’s name. The Counting On couple welcomed their baby to the world on August 21 and shared their big announcement on August 24. In the meantime, they have been working on coming up with the perfect name. Here’s what we know.
Photographer leaked baby’s name before the big reveal
Prior to Joy and Austin sharing the news themselves, the photographer who took their pictures shared the baby’s name. The photographer shared a few photos of the family and of the baby girl. The caption included the baby’s name, Evelyn. But, shortly after it was posted, the photographer edited the caption so it didn’t include the baby’s name. The photographer also disabled comments on the post. The photographer’s post didn’t include the baby’s middle name.
Joy Duggar and Austin Forsyth reveal baby’s name
On Thursday evening, Joy and Austin revealed their daughter’s name. Joy shared one of her baby’s newborn photos along with a photo of herself holding the baby. In the caption, she reveals that the baby is named Evelyn Mae. She writes, “I wanted her name to be perfect and elegant! We had a hard time deciding but after a few days finally settled on ‘Evy Mae’ and we think it fits her perfectly! 💕”

Duggar fans react to baby’s name
In response to Joy and Austin’s news, fans are gushing over the baby girl and her name. They are talking about how sweet the name is and how it’s a perfect fit.
Joy’s sister Jill Dillard commented, “Aww! Yay! So cute and these pics!! 😍 You look great Joy Joy!” Also Joy’s sister-in-law Anna Duggar commented, “LOVE her name!!!!!! Evelyn is perfect 💝” It seems like the whole family loves the name, Evelyn.
Joy and Austin waited until baby’s arrival to name her
When Joy was expecting the baby, she revealed that she and Austin weren’t naming the baby until she was born. Close to the baby’s arrival, Joy admitted that they needed to work on coming up with names. So, this might have been part of the reason it took them a little while to name their little one.
While the couple was waiting to share the baby’s name with the world, fans shared their best guesses. Some thought they might name the baby Hope or Faith, as she was born after Joy had a loss at 20 weeks gestation. Others picked up on Anna’s Instagram story, which featured a peach emoji. So, some thought the baby’s name might be Georgia.
