Dax Shepard: Is Suffering And In Pain, ‘Takes Total Blame’ For Accident

Dax Shepard

Dax Shepard of his Armchair Expert podcast has revealed he needs surgery. Because he injured himself in a motorcycle accident. Shepard said he was riding a racetrack in California when the accident happened.

Dax Shepard explained how the accident went down. “I was passing six guys on Sonoma Raceway on a motorcycle. That’s when I was braking very, very hard — hard enough that the back wheel was off the ground for a good 100 yards,” he recalled. “I was totally at blame. Because thinking I would be able to slide in between, but someone turned in. I was already under full brake there’s nowhere I could go.”

Dax continued, “I clipped their bumper and I went over the handlebars, and I landed pretty hard.”

Injuries Won’t Stop Dax Shepard

Dax said it was the first time at the racecourse where he wrecked. It “was demoralizing.” To add insult to injury he was, “thoroughly yelled at,” by track employees.

Dax said, “They really let me have it and I was too injured to object. I just took it on the chin.”

There’s no slowing him down. According to People, Dax Shepard said he iced his shoulder and hand for an hour and a half. Then Shepard said he returned for “two more sessions” on the track.

Dax said, he started hurting too bad, “it was too painful by the end of it.”

Dax said, “I’ve been at the hospital for seven hours today. The final injury count is four broken ribs. I have a broken clavicle in three places. I will need surgery.”

After breaking his hand a couple of months ago. Dax joked, the “good news” would be he re-injured one of the four fingers he broke.

Will Dax Shepard Settle Down After All The Injuries

It looks as if Dax Shepard is feeling a bit guilty for “actively doing something dangerous.” Shepard said he doesn’t see himself completely quitting motorcycles.

“I might be willing to quit for the remainder of 2020,” he quipped.

This was not the first motorized accident Dax Shepard was in. On Ellen Degeneres Show in May, Dax’s wife Kristen Bell shared that her husband had broken his hand while off-roading with a friend.

Bell said, “Dax was sitting on the edge of a cliff. Then he put his hand up just to lookout. However, the weight of his arm tipped his Polaris RZR — is what he was on — over. Because you don’t get injured when you’re inside them. I will tell you something, it did crush all the bones in his hand.”

Kristen Bell continued, “Dax was embarrassed by the hand injury. Because of the cardinal rule. You don’t put your hands on the roll cage, outside the car at any time. Because that’s the only chance of injury.”
