Money has been at the root of the problems between 90 Day Fiancé stars Deavan Clegg and her husband Jihoon Lee. Right from the start, The Other Way star Jihoon lied about his finances or lack thereof. While telling Deavan before she moves to South Korea that he had a job, it turns out he was working part-time as a driver. Since various fights, and Jihoon deleting his Instagram, the couple has finally reconciled in the latest episode.
90 Day Fiancé stars Deavan and Jihoon argue again about money
Let’s face it, when you are a family with two small children, money is an important issue. It was understandable that Deavan fought with Jihoon over his lack of money. In Monday’s episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, viewers see Jihoon storming out of the family dinner. Deavan decides to follow him outside the restaurant to speak to him in private.
Jihoon then asks her if she thinks he is “just a liar.” In response, Deavan asks him whether he was thinking of her when he was spending his money on himself. This is despite the fact she had asked him for financial assistance when she was pregnant with Taeyang.
This leads to Jihoon admitting he has been selfish. He opens up and is honest with Deavan, saying he didn’t take her seriously because of the long distance. Deavan’s temper flares, as she tells him she doesn’t ever want to speak to him again. She stands up and walks away from Jihoon.
Deavan gives Jihoon another chance
Jihoon follows Deavan, pleading with her to listen to him. He admits that reality did hit when Taeyang was born. Moreover, he admits he made a mistake and says he will change. Fans may remember that Jihoon has $3,000 in savings in his mother’s account. Deavan told him to transfer that money into her account right away. She says this will prove to her that he has been saving money and is stepping up financially.
As soon as Jihoon goes back into the restaurant, he asks his mother to withdraw the $3,000 from her bank account. He asks her to do so at the nearby ATM. Jihoon’s mother did feel Deavan was being childish over this, but she did agree. In her confessional, Jihoon’s mother admits she questions whether Deavan really loves Jihoon. She wants to know why they have to buy her with that money, saying it is not right.
90 Day Fiancé stars reconcile over the cash
As noted by In Touch, once the cash is drawn and in Jihoon’s hands, he places an envelope containing the cash in her lap. This causes Deavan to start crying. Jihoon apologizes again for everything, telling Deavan he really loves her.
At the request of Deavan, Jihoon takes her back to the room, where she will think about what to do next. In the morning, Jihoon comes over and starts begging Deavan to forgive him. Moreover, he asks her to trust him one more time for their child.
Deavan insists that for them to be able to move forward, his money must to placed in a joint bank account. This is so she will have access to it for their daily needs. Jihoon promises to do this, saying, “My money, your money.”
Deavan will look for a new apartment for the family
Deavan tells Jihoon that she will use the $3,000 cash to find a new apartment, where the family can live together for one month. However, she stresses to him that if he hasn’t changed within one month, she will return to America and take the children with her. Jihoon promises he will do his best to keep them together.
In her confessional, Deavan says she is giving Jihoon one more chance because she believes her son deserves this. She repeats that she is doing this for their son, Taeyang.
