Kristen Doute is paying it forward. The Vanderpump Rules alum attended a Black Lives Matter protest. This comes more than a month after Bravo fired her and Stassi Schroeder for their past racist actions. Prior to her firing, Kristen apologized on Instagram and promised to “do better.”
Over the weekend, Kristen was spotted kneeling at a BLM protest. The 37-year-old former SUR waitress attended the event with other unidentified protestors on Saturday, July 25. However, this isn’t Kristen’s first time at the event. An insider revealed that Kristen and her boyfriend, Alex Menache, have attended regularly. This is the first time Kristen has been spotted.
Kristen Doute kneels at Black Lives Matter protest
The Blast was the first to report about Kristen Doute’s sighting. Her boyfriend shot a video of the protest. In the clip, dozens of protestors kneeled in the streets of Los Angeles. He also gave his viewers a glimpse at Kristen kneeling at the protest. In the post, Alex thanked his friends for showing up to the protest.
“Thank you @iketweetzy and @ronnyrock you are doing amazing things,” he wrote. “Thank you for making this amazing community for 60 days. It’s so powerful and important.”
He also included the GIF that read “stop racism” and the hashtag “kneel for justice.” In the clip, Kristen kneeled next to her boyfriend, who captured the video at the protest. The former Bravo star wore a denim jacket and a black face mask. She also wore her brunette hair up in a bun.
Former Vanderpump Rules star speaks out about her firing
Back in June, Bravo announced that it fired Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute for a past racial incident that came to light. Her former VPR co-star Faith Stowers recalled a time when the ladies called the cops on her for a crime she didn’t commit. According to Faith, they thought she looked like another Black woman who was wanted for a robbery.
Since the firing, Kristen appeared on the “Hollywood Raw” podcast alongside Dax Holt and Adam Glyn. She admitted that she didn’t speak to anyone from the network about the firing.
“I never got to speak to anyone, which was really hard because I would have liked to have a conversation,” Kristen explained. “I really wished that they would have talked about this publicly.”
The He’s Making You Crazy author revealed that she “wasn’t doing that well” in the following weeks ahead.
Lala Kent speaks out on Stassi and Kristen firing
Kristen Doute wasn’t the only one to speak out. Vanderpump Rules costar Lala Kent spoke out about the recent Bravo firings. A follower asked Lala her thoughts during an Instagram Live chat, as per The Blast.
“To me, when people ask me how I feel about it – I try not to really get into it,” Lala said. “I will say that them not being on the show anymore hasn’t sunk in yet because we’ve had such, like, this crazy ride together and our life consists of each other.”
“You know when someone passes and you’re still fine because your body goes into shock like you’re not used to it,” Lala continued. “That’s what it feels like.”
Kristen and Stassi were regulars on Vanderpump Rules before their firing. Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni were also fired for their past racist tweets.
