Last month, Bravo fired Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute. Like many people, Lala Kent is still in shock. The Vanderpump Rules star broke her silence on the firings of her former costars. She got somewhat emotional and candid in her Instagram Live on Tuesday, July 21.
Lala Kent speaks out on former Vanderpump Rules costars
Lala Kent has made a slow return to social media. She showed off her new “Rand” tattoo. She also appeared on several of Randall Emmett’s Instagram Stories.
The couple is currently quarantining in Puerto Rico with the cast of Midnight in the Switchgrass. Lala opened up to fans during an Instagram Live chat on Tuesday, July 21. Of course, she was asked about the Vanderpump Rules firing scandal.
“To me, when people ask me how I feel about it – I try not really get into it,” Lala Kent said, according to Us Weekly. “I will say that them not being on the show anymore hasn’t sunk in yet because we’ve had such, like, this crazy ride together and our life consists of each other.”
The model says she hasn’t had enough time to process the firing. She compared the loss of her costars to the death of a loved one.
“You know when someone passes and you’re still fine because your body goes into shock, like you’re not used to it,” Lala continued. “That’s what it feels like.”
Bravo fired both Stassi and Kristen after former costar Faith Stowers revealed claims that they falsely reported her for a crime she did not commit in 2018. Also, Brett Caprioni and Max Boyens got the boot for their past racist tweets. Both Stassi and Kristen issued statements after Faith’s shocking revelations, but an insider told Us Weekly that the two “didn’t reach out to Faith directly.”
Where does the rest of the cast stand with Stassi and Kristen?
Lala Kent is the only Vanderpump Rules star to publicly comment on the firings. As per Us Weekly, the other cast members have distanced themselves from the two amid the controversy. While Stassi was upset over Bravo’s decision to fire her, the situation brought her closer to Kristen. The two were on the outs towards the end of Season 8.
Meanwhile, Katie Maloney still has Stassi’s back. She “liked” Stassi’s gender reveal. After Stassi announced that she and Beau are having a baby girl, Katie wrote, “Can’t wait to meet her!!!!!!!!!” When Stassi apologized on June 7, Katie said, “I know your heart and your commitment to learning, understanding, and growing. Love you.”
Ariana Madix was rumored to defend Stassi following her firing. But there aren’t any screenshots of her alleged comments. During Season 6 of VPR, she called out Stassi for her white privilege. But she hasn’t publicly commented on Stassi’s firing. However, Tom Sandoval was asked about the situation during a recent visit to his hometown in St. Louis.
“It’s crazy,” he told St. Louis’ New 4 while bartending at a local bar. “It definitely changes things and honestly, we’re just going to have to wait and see what happens.”
While Scheana and Stassi didn’t get along on the show, the “Good as Gold” singer revealed that she’s been in touch with Stassi after she suffered a devastating miscarriage.
