After TLC released the trailer and promotional photoshoot for Counting On Season 11, it became apparent that family members are missing. Specifically, Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth aren’t included. Because of this, fans assume that the couple and their two-year-old son won’t be on the show.

As expected, Josh and Anna Duggar won’t be on the show. This is due to Josh’s rocky past. Anna and the kids will appear in some scenes, but they weren’t a part of the promo shoot either.

Joy, Austin, and Anna were in Counting On Season 11, Episodes 1 and 2

Despite the Forsyths and Anna not being in the promo shoot, they did make an appearance in the first two episodes of Season 11. The first two episodes aired on Tuesday, July 7. It’s worth noting that none of them played major roles in the episodes. They appeared in a group setting. Based on what’s been revealed about Season 11 so far, this should be the way things continue to go.

While fans may be sad that they can’t see Joy, Austin, and Anna on Counting On, all three of them share frequent Instagram updates. So, Duggar fans can still keep up with them.

Derick Dillard confirms Joy and Austin’s exit

Recently, Derick Dillard, husband of Jill Duggar, has been spilling the tea on the Duggar family. He’s even writing a tell-all book. After the Season 11 premiere, Derick went on a rant about the show.

Now, in response to TLC’s Instagram post about the show, Derick is talking about Joy and Austin. He writes, “we quit filming, not family life. Joy and Austin also quit filming, but they were there.” He’s referring to the family game night from the first episode. He and Jill were not invited to the virtual game night.

Why did Joy and Austin leave Counting On?

There has not been an official announcement about Joy and Austin leaving the show. Derick’s comment is confirmation that they are no longer on the show. But, there’s not an obvious reason why they would no longer be on the show.

Fans are currently speculating about the reason behind their exit. Last year, Joy lost a baby at 20 weeks gestation. This tragic loss would be difficult for her to talk about on the show, so she might not have wanted to relive it all.

It’s possible that Joy and Austin will reveal the details later on. But, as of right now, there is no word on the reason behind their exit.

So, are you sad to hear Joy and Austin officially won’t be on the show? Share your thoughts below.

Counting On airs on TLC Tuesdays.
