Matt Roloff had a lot to discuss during his most recent Instagram Live. As we previously reported, the Little People, Big World star got candid about some chickens he had recently purchased for the farm. But, the video was nearly 20 minutes long. And, there’s only so much you can say about chickens. About five to six minutes into the video… The topic shifted. He was ready to discuss COVID-19 and facial masks.

Matt Roloff is no stranger to catching heat for not wearing masks.

Matt Roloff and his girlfriend Caryn Chandler were picked apart by trolls over COVID-19 safety recently. People criticized the duo for partying and putting themselves at risk during a pandemic. People also praised the duo for “not taking any chances” when it came to the coronavirus. Matt and Caryn shared photos revealing that they rocked both masks and face shields to keep safe.

The TLC explains why he wasn’t wearing a mask during the live video.

During the Instagram Live video, Matt Roloff was not wearing a mask. He felt the need to explain. He pointed out the fact that he was working on the farm. But, he was alone. There wasn’t anyone but his dog and his farm animals with him. So, there was hardly a reason for him to be wearing a mask. He, however, was prepared should someone approach him.

Matt pulled out his face shield and explained that he had a face shield to keep himself extra safe during the pandemic. He, however, admits the face shield was not enough to keep him as safe as he needed to be. Matt Roloff also pulled out a cloth mask that he liked to wear for extra protection.

Matt Roloff admitted to LPBW fans that there was a time where he was not sure the virus was a real thing. He wasn’t sure wearing masks was something people really needed to do. He, however, had a change of heart when people close to him started to get the virus. Matt explained that when people close to you start to get sick with the virus… The reality of everything hits you in the face.
