Below Deck Mediterranean fans are in uproar over Peter Hunziker. Although Bravo fired the reality star for sharing a racist and misogynistic image on social media, there’s been more of him than ever. The network promised to cut back on his appearance in the second part of the season.
Even with the bad edit, viewers are sick of seeing Pete on their screen. He proudly calls himself “Shameless Pete” and “Party Pete.” But viewers call him “Creepy Pete.” Read on to find out why Pete was giving everyone on the creeps on Monday night.
Below Deck Mediterranean fans are fed up with Pete
On Monday night’s episode, Peter Hunziker became the new villain of Below Deck Mediterranean. The way he interacts with the women made viewers sick to their stomachs. They didn’t like it when he acted inappropriately with Christina “Bugsy” Drake.
He’s been missing Lana Flumiani ever since she left. Pete misses a woman whose name he couldn’t remember. The two exchanged phone numbers and then he sent her the ‘ole “are you up?” text. But his mind quickly shifted from Lana to Bugsy. Bugsy’s response made it clear that she was not interested in the lead deckhand.
But he continued with his inappropriate banter, nonetheless. Below Deck Mediterranean fans couldn’t believe what they were watching. Most of them were creeped out by the way that Pete treated Bugsy even though she made it clear she wasn’t interested in him. He also kept staring at her while making her feel uncomfortable, as per meaww.com.
“Watching Pete be creepy AF towards Bugsy has me feeling legitimately ill,” one fan wrote. “This guy has the biggest ego and doesn’t deserve to think so highly of himself.”
“Pete is so creepy and weird. Is he for real?” another fan wrote. “I feel the same as Bugsy looks as he explains himself.”
This doesn’t come as a surprise to Below Deck Mediterranean fans after the way he treated bosun Malia White. She called him out for not following orders and addressing her as “sweetheart.”
Bravo fires Peter Hunziker for his misogynistic ways
Below Deck Mediterranean fans agree that Peter deserved being fired for his misogyny on the show. From the first day, it was clear that he had little respect for women. He also didn’t care when the cameras were on him. Last month, Bravo and 51 Minds fired Peter amid the Black Lives Matter movement.
Fans saw his Instagram Stories where he posted a meme of a Black woman tied up with the caption, “When black men been doing you wrong your whole life and you decide to date a nice Caucasian guy Peter from Whole Foods,” as per Screen Rant.
Below Deck Mediterranean fans slammed Peter for the post. But instead of apologizing, he defended his post by stating he’s not racist and that he’s attracted to “all women.” In addition, he told his followers to “relax” by saying that it was just a joke.
It’s clear that Peter won’t be missed on the show. Season 5 currently has Peter in the episodes, but producers are still finding a way to edit him out.
Below Deck Mediterranean airs Monday nights at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
