Welcome to Plathville stars Olivia and Ethan Plath

‘Welcome To Plathville’ Season 2 Confirmed

News, Reality TV, TLC Shows

The first season of Welcome to Plathville featured the Plath family, who follows strict, conservative Christian values. The kids in the family don’t recognize popular cultural references, such as Tom Brady. They’re also not allowed to drink soda or eat sugar. The first season followed the family as they navigated some big changes. For example, Moriah Plath began pulling away from her parents’ control. The first season also had a strong focus on Ethan and Olivia Plath in the beginning of their marriage. Ethan’s mother, Kim Plath, and his new wife Olivia faced a lot of relationship issues. Kim was afraid that Olivia was influencing her children in a negative way.

While some viewers enjoyed watching the TLC show, some thought the family was a bit extreme. So, the response is mixed. But, the show must have performed well enough. New details about the second season of TLC’s Welcome to Plathville are out.

According to a source, filming for the second season is already in the works. The source reveals, “Season 2 is being filmed starting in a week.” This was revealed about a week ago, so filming might already be underway. No other details are public at this time.

Welcome to Plathville may feature Nurie Rodrigues and Nathan Keller’s wedding

On Reddit, the conversation continues. One user mentions the possibility of Nurie Rodrigues and Nathan Keller’s wedding on the show. The Rodrigues family is another fundamentalist family, similar to the Duggars and Plaths. And, Nathan is the brother of Anna Duggar.

Another user replies, “That’s what I’m wondering. Weren’t two Plath girls in the wedding party? Hosanna and another one that was still at home?”

Then, the user continues, “I wonder if they chose the date so that the Plaths would be filming, I also wonder if anything will make it in social media now. If they agreed for the wedding to be filmed even in the slightest, they might have had to sign ‘will not release such and such info.'”

While all the details about the wedding are speculation, Nathan and Nurie are supposed to be getting married soon. As the Reddit user mentioned, it’s possible the family can’t share any details if Nathan and Nurie already tied the knot. So, only time will tell if the family plays a role in the new season.

Season 2 previously didn’t sound likely

In the past, Olivia has talked about the return of TLC’s Welcome to Plathville. And from what Olivia says, it doesn’t sound like she and Ethan are interested in doing another season. She even reveals that she and Ethan were “manipulated” into being on the first season. At the time, it seemed like TLC wanted Ethan and Olivia on the show. So, if they won’t do it, none of the Plaths are. But, something has changed.

Just wanted to get on here real quick and let everyone know that I’m taking an Instagram break. I won’t be answering any DM’s, comments, or posting content until January. I’ve received so much hate on all of my platforms since our show aired, and while I know that is just part of being in this industry, I don’t need to be seeing that negativity and toxicity every day. I’m a strong person, not necessarily because I was born that way, but because life was hard and I learned to stand up for myself and others. Bullies and narcissists don’t phase me, and if I see someone I love being hurt or abused, it is not in my nature to stay silent. If this past year for you didn’t include getting married and moving 800 miles away, leaving your family behind, processing your childhood and re-discovering yourself, having your in-laws speak ill of you on national tv, and dealing with narcissistic behavior, emotional, psychological and spiritual abuse every day, then you can’t understand my story and don’t have a reason to tell me why I’m doing everything wrong. I’m hurt, and I’m young but I’m learning. Those three things are hard enough, and when displayed on TV they are even harder because you suddenly have a peanut gallery with you. I made many mistakes during the filming of the show (the first one being allowing myself to be manipulated into doing it by family) and I’m not afraid to own up to that. But until you’ve dealt with narcissist behavior, you have no idea how easy it is to freak out and react in an effort to protect yourself and those you love. To everyone who has been supportive, thank you. I know I will continue to grow and evolve as a person with your encouragement 🖤 I want to use my break from social media to love well on the people in my corner, and listen to their stories. I want to use the time I would’ve spent scrolling to diving deeper into and praying over who I am meant to be as a person. Cheers to the next month being full of growing, processing emotions, and embracing my story, however hard and imperfect and messy it is. Merriest Christmas to you all. 🎄
