In a new social media post, Bachelor alum Jamie Otis gets real about her postpartum body. She’s showing her social media followers what her body actually looks like during postpartum. In her post, Jamie reveals that she’s six weeks postpartum. Six weeks ago, Married at First Sight stars Jamie and Doug Hehner had a baby boy. The couple named him Hendrix Douglas. He joins big sister Henley Grace.
Jamie’s new post includes a side-by-side comparison of two pictures of her. She explains that they were taken only a minute apart. But, they look much different.
Jamie explains, “Isn’t it amazing what sucking it in & pulling up your yoga pants does?” Then, she goes on to say, “It’d be easy to only share the left pic where I look a bit more toned & skinnier.” She adds that it’s “normal” for people to still have a bump after they have given birth.
Jamie Otis mentions that it’s “empowering” to have grown her baby. So, that might help her love her postpartum body that much more.
Finally, Jamie leaves her followers with a reminder. She writes, “Sooo anyway, if you’re scrollin’ insta & all you see are toned, model worthy, Bikini-clad bods, just know that they’re probs just sucking it in.”

6 wks postpartum!🤱🏻 Photos taken a minute apart. Isn’t it amazing what sucking it in & pulling up your yoga pants does!🤣 It’d be easy to only share the left pic where I look a bit more toned & skinnier, but it’s so *normal* to have a “bump” after having a baby! Nothing feels more empowering than growing a tiny human – this bod just *created & grew* 9 lbs 4 oz of life!🤯 Sooo anyway, if you’re scrollin’ insta & all you see are toned, model worthy, Bikini-clad bods, just know that they’re probs just sucking it in.🤣
Jamie Otis’ followers love how honest she is
One reason why Jamie’s followers love her so much is that she’s honest. The Bachelor alum is always getting real about motherhood and life in general. They especially love this most recent post, but they also love to see whatever she decides to share each day. Sometimes, it’s about feeling mom guilt. Lately, she’s been very open about the postpartum experience, from recovery to all of the emotions she’s been feeling. This seems to help others feel like they’re not alone. And, she seems to want to normalize these kinds of things in pregnancy and motherhood.

What you think life with a newborn is like VS real life with a newborn🎯 The fourth trimester is so, so hard. We’re left with the pains from delivery (no matter how you delivered). Judgement from bottle feeding is real.🙄 Breastfeeding is it’s own battle. I’m nearly two weeks in and it *still* hurts to feed my baby. (And I’d like to think of myself as “experienced” being that I’m an L&D nurse AND I nursed my daughter for a full year!) No matter how much experience you have, every baby is different. My toes still CURL & pain zaps through me each time @hendrix_hehner latches on.🤱🏻 I am guilty of being that person who wants all the cutesy pics of my family – especially my newborn – to share on instagram. And there’s nothing wrong with that. BUT, I think it’s so important to show real life too bc it helps us mamas know we’re not alone in the inevitable post partum struggle.💯🥰 It’s so easy to go down the path of “Am I doing good enough as a mommy?” ..especially in the fourth trimester when your hormones are raging.🤦🏼♀️And then we get on the gram & see all these beautiful, filtered pics of sweet, happy families & compare ourselves.😬 Two days after I had Hendrix we had a photoshoot for people magazine & got those cutesy pics (which I love!!) but i wanted to be sure to keep it real also.💯 If you’re scrollin’ i don’t want my filtered family to make you feel less than bc trust me, behind the scenes I’m holding my breath while I pee (ouch!) still waddling around from effin’ Hemerrhroids & currently sitting in a sweatshirt full of baby spit up.🤷🏼♀️ Soooo whether you’re a new mama or an “experienced” mama & need a reminder that you’re NOT alone in the pits of mom life – I’m right there with ya! 💗 YOU’RE DOING GREAT, MAMA!👏🏻🥰 …and I’m taking my own advice bc ive cried every single day since I delivered Hendrix.🤷🏼♀️ To be “gentle on yourself” is much easier said than done. It’s a learned practice. But WE’VE GOT THIS!💪🏼 One day at a time!💯 And if you need anything, I’m here for you!🙏🏻 Us mamas have to stick together!💙
Whenever she posts a photo on social media, she gets a lot of love from her followers. They thank her for being so honest. After all, like Jamie mentions, there are many “model worthy” people on social media. So, she knows it can be easy to get down about how your body looks. This might be exactly why Jamie shares so many real, honest moments on her Instagram page.
