‘BIP’: Dean Unglert Feels Caelynn Miller-Keyes’ Commitment Ring’s As Good As A Wedding Band
BIP fans heard back in February that Dean Unglert and Caelynn Miller-Keyes already put a ring on her finger. Fans grew a bit confused, uncertain if they married or got engaged. Well, they did neither in the traditional sense. Instead, they held a commitment ceremony. Now, Dean told Chris Harrison, that doesn’t make him less of a husband to Caelynn.
BIP – Dean feels their commitment ring’s similar to a wedding band
Recall that late last year, a report by US Weekly, suggested Dean and Caleynn simply never considered marriage. Mainly, they pointed to the fact that Caelynn wants kids and Dean’s not keen on them at all. Dean told the outlet, “She does joke around about us getting married all the time, and I always say, ‘Sorry, it’s not going to happen.'” So, it seemed a bit strange when Caelynn told a fan on her Instagram that he pretty much already proposed.
Later, it emerged that the BIP couple held a commitment ceremony rather than an actual wedding. Apparently, between them, it made them feel they took a big step forward in their relationship. Another huge step that indicated some permanence came when they adopted their rescue dog Pappy. Often, people take a step of caring for an animal ahead of planning for kids and weddings. And Dean believes his commitment ring takes on a huge meaning in his life. In fact, it’s not much different than a wedding band, Dean feels.
Bachelor host Chris Harrison talks to Dean about their marriage status
This week, fans saw Ben Higgins feature on The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons — Ever! During the show, Chris also talked about Dean and Caelynn. Trying to clear up their status, Chris asked them where they officially stand in their relationship. Dean Unglert told Chris that he’s committed to Caelynn, noting the “title of husband” makes no difference to him. The Bachelor in Paradise star believes that the fact he wears a commitment ring speaks for itself. And, he’s worn it for about six months now.
Using the words “domestic partnership,” he explained that while it’s not marriage in the traditional sense, “it’s our way of telling the world and the people we’re around that we are committed to each other.”‘ For the BIP alum, waking in the morning knowing they hold that commitment counts for a lot. He loves it that Caelynn wears his ring, even if it’s not a wedding band, as such. Fans also know the couple stayed together during quarantine. It certainly seems like something that tested plenty of relationships from the ABC franchise.
