How Deadliest Catch Star Josh Harris Will Remember Captain Phil On Father’s Day

How will Captain Josh Harris remember his late father, Captain Phil Harris, on Father’s Day 2020? The F/V Cornelia Marie captain told Fox News that he has something very special planned.

The Deadliest Catch star is taking out his late father’s red 2008 Corvette Z06. Josh revealed that he still has his dad’s “favorite care that he ever owned.” How much did Captain Phil love this car? Josh claims that his father wanted to be buried in this car, he loved it so much! Captain Phil loved Corvettes so much that at one time he owned five. All at once! Josh jokes that his dad, who passed away at 53, was “a real weirdo.” But, he obviously knew something about cars, as Josh never beat his old man.

Josh, who took the prized vehicle to the repair shop in preparation for Father’s Day, has his morning planned out. He will take out the vehicle down a particular road that he and his father used to race on. Josh had an Infinity G35 coupe,  but it was no match for his dad’s Z06. That is because Captain Phil’s vehicle had about 1,000 horsepower.

Besides driving down that iconic road, Josh will “blast” either Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd, his dad’s favorite music. Then, in the afternoon, the elder Harris son will be spending time with his own daughter, doing some putt putt golf.

Will Jake Harris Be There With Josh Harris, Remembering Captain Phil?

What about Jake Harris, Captain Phil’s youngest son. Will he be remembering their dad alongside Josh Harris. If Jake is remembering his dad on Father’s Day, it will be separate from Josh. He will not be driving in a Corvette, or anywhere for that matter.

According to a recent TV Shows Ace interview with Captain Josh Harris, Jake Harris is currently in jail. He is serving time for “some of the crimes he committed.” This includes drug charges.

Since Captain Phil’s death a decade ago, Jake Harris has been battling his addictions. The good news is that Captain Josh believes that Jake is on the road to recovery. He even envisions Jake joining him on the F/V Cornelia Marie and perhaps back on the Deadliest Catch.

But, don’t hold your breath anytime soon. Josh was sentenced to 18 months. He is still serving time, getting clean and getting ready to move forward.

Meanwhile, Captain Josh, along with Captain Casey have been fulfilling Captain Phil’s Hawaiian legacy on a new Deadliest Catch spinoff.

Deadliest Catch: Bloodline Follows Captain Phil’s Hawaiian Adventure

Did you watch the Deadliest Catch spinoff, Bloodline? This is a show about the F/V Cornelia Marie captains following in Captain Phil’s footsteps. Captains Josh and Casey found some lost Hawaiian charts when remodeling the captain’s quarters of the famed crab boat. Those charts included specific notes from Captain Phil.

The two went off to Hawaii to learn to fish for ahi tuna, Pacific blue marlin and mahi mahi, while learning more about Captain Phil’s past. This adventure has taught Josh a lot about Phil Harris, his remarkable father. This knowledge has to make him even closer to his dad, even though it has been a decade since his death.
