Yellowstone fans have been eagerly awaiting it’s return on Sunday, June 21. However, they don’t have to wait long. With the upcoming Season 3 starting this Sunday, Cole Hauser (Rip Wheeler) dished about the new season. Hauser confirmed that Rip and Beth (Kelly Reilly) will be starting their “new life together.” Rip and Beth have always had this connection even when they were just teenagers. Now, they finally get to be together. “It’s up and down, but it’s what Rip and Beth are, that’s what makes them interesting. They are a perfect match.” says Cole.
Cole had nothing but good things to tell HollywoodLife about Yellowstone actress Kelly Reilly. Cole said, “In Season 3, we get to do some really good work together, she’s just a spectacular actress and a wonderful person.”
What’s New For Yellowstone This Season
Rip and Beth’s love and respect for each other has grown over the years, since they were teens. Rip would do anything for Beth and vice versa. When Beth was attacked in her office by men hired by Malcolm Beck, Rip never hesitated to try and save her, even tho he got shot in the process. For Cole, Rip and Beth are “absolutely” meant to be together. “Maybe Rip thought that more than Beth did, but as they grew up into young adults and into their later years, they’re a powerful couple.”
However, Rip and Kayce’s (Luke Grimes) relatioship has been rocky. There were tension between the two as Kayce’s role at the ranch grew during Season 2. At the end of the day, they always want what’s best for the ranch, and the respect between them grew over the second season. The two have had a rocky relationship since Rip was in his teens.
Cole continued, “Taylor [Sheridan] and Luke [Grimes] and I have talked about it. It’s kind of big brother-little brother. Even though Lee, Kayce’s big brother, passed away in Season 1. He was kind of a mediator between the two of us.”
He also said fans will see more resolution to the relationship in Season 3.
Not Just One Dutton Enemy This Season
The new Season 3 won’t have just one enemy there will be multiple people coming for the Dutton ranch or the Dutton family.“There’s always some formidable adversary that they have to smoke out or figure out, and that happens again this year. This year is a little different, though,” Cole revealed. “There is a lot of Beth and Rip’s romance. I know that fans are very excited about that. We were very excited about doing it. There’s a lot of focus on that this season and getting to know our characters a little bit more and how our hearts are connected.”
Yellowstone Season 3 will air this Sunday at 9 p.m. on Paramount Network.
