Jill Dillard Hangs Sentimental Lamp In Honor of Her Gran, Mary Duggar

Jill Dillard might not plan on leaving the country any time soon. Derick and Jill would consider it if they went back to their missionary work. But for now, she looks quite settled. Jill hung a lamp up in a cozy corner. She said that her cousin Amy King gave it to her after her grandmother, Mary Duggar, passed away.

Jill and Derick Dillard could consider leaving the country

We reported that Derick and Jill still seem very open to the idea of working as missionaries. Derick and Jill seem rather far away from the affections of her mom and dad. Derick’s quite vocal about how he feels Jim Bob Duggar allegedly tried forcing Jill to film. That came after the reveal about Josh and molestations. He also holds a strong beef about the way the kids didn’t get paid for their roles in Counting On and 19 Kids and Counting.

According to The Sun, Derick and Jill wouldn’t mind leaving the country for more missionary work. Perhaps the tense feelings between the couple and Jim Bob make it easier for them to leave. But, with Jill hanging the lamp that came from Mary Duggar perhaps the time’s not yet come for them to leave. After all, it’s more likely Jill Dillard would pack things into storage if a move seemed imminent.

Jill hangs the lamp and it seems sentimental and a lovely gesture, fans think

Jill shared a photo of Derick sitting under the lamp reading to their two boys. She captioned it with, “I finally hung up this lamp today.” Then, she talked about how Amy give it to her along with other stuff that belonged to Mary. Counting On fans know that Mary fell and died in the swimming pool in an accident. The Duggar kids loved their gran and mourn her a lot.

Jill said the lamp reminded her of Mary. She noted, “I will be reminded of her, especially on nights like tonight when we [read] to the boys like she used to.” Sadly, Jill noted that Mary never visited their “new little home.” And, she lamented that Mary can’t ever read to her sons again. Fans liked the lamp a lot and one noted, “Love the lamp.” They enjoyed that Jill uses her piece of “treasure” that reminds her of her “grandma.”

Jill and Derick moved house

A few fans asked Jill if she moved into a new home. The Sun reminds readers they relocated into a”modest home” last year. In January 2020, they showed some photos of the interior of their new home. No rumors came of any further move since then. Possibly, as they lived there for less than one year, Jill still feels like it’s “new.”

Clearly, Jill Dillard still decorates and hangs things like lamps. So, maybe they don’t plan on rushing off to a foreign country just yet.
