The Grand Tour Season 4 second episode is ready! Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond have confirmed that it is now in Amazon’s hands. What do we know about the new episode. Most importantly, when will Amazon drop it?
The Grand Tour Season 4 Episode 2 Is Ready
The Grand Tour fans have been waiting an awfully long time. But, the Season 4, second episode is ready. According to Drivetribe, Jeremy Clarkson revealed that they are totally done with all the editing of the Madagascar episode.
Most importantly, he is quite proud of this episode. “We think we made a hell of a story and we hope you enjoy watching this as much as we enjoyed making it.”
What took them so long? For one thing, longtime show producer and personal friend, Andy Wilman, got Covid-19. He had a hard time with this deadly virus and it appears to have returned. The other was that they had to travel, but the borders were shut down due to the coronavirus.
Most importantly, the sheer volume of footage to go through. Generally, there is one camera team on each of the three presenters. That is three times the average television footage. Also, these adventure trips take weeks. So, they need to meticulously go through the film to find the best and most entertaining bits for fans.
So, when can fans see their adventure into the mysterious island of Madagascar?
Now In ‘Amazon’s Hands’
Jeremy Clarkson let fans know that the Madagascar episode is now out of their hands. The episode is filmed. It has been edited. They are done with everything need to do. Now, it is in Amazon’s hands.
When will Amazon premiere The Grand Tour Season 4, episode 2? That, no one knows. Summer is traditionally not the most ideal time to drop a major episode of anything.
Could this mean that gearheads will need to wait until September? Possibly. Then again, there has been nothing normal about 2020. When Amazon decides to drop this highly requested episode is a mystery to everyone. This includes Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond. Fans don’t need to ask the trio when it will be released, because they just don’t know.
But, they will certainly announce it to everyone when Amazon makes the announcement.
What Is Next For The Grand Tour?
Now that the coronavirus lockdowns are lessening, what is next for Clarkson, Hammond and May? Northern Russia will not happen in 2020. They planned that episode in March. This is ideal for snow and for light.
But, there is a fourth destination that they planned on filming. But, no one has revealed where that will be. They may have to change their plans and make sure that this fourth episode is in the EU, where they are allowed to visit.
Or maybe they could get old jalopies and drive around the rugged roads in Orkney, staying within the United Kingdom?
As with everything related to 2020 television, it is all up in the air. One thing is for sure, there will be a Season 5. Hopefully, a supersized The Grand Tour Season 5. In the meantime, the first three seasons of The Grand Tour, as well as the Season 4 episode, “Seamen,” are all available now on Amazon Prime.
