An independent designer sued Khloe Kardashian. The Los Angeles-based designer sued the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star and her Good American company for ripping off her signature bedazzled bodysuits.

The Blast revealed the details of the legal documents on Sunday, May 30. First, the documents revealed that the company named “dbleudazzled” claimed that Kardashian borrowed several items from their store. She promised it was for personal use. But the company claims that the reality star copied their line of bodysuits.

In the lawsuit, the company claimed that Khloe Kardashian “purchased and borrowed numerous pieces of Plaintiff’s clothing, under the false pretense that the clothing items were for Kardashian’s personal use.”

“Instead, months later, Kardashian and Good American launched a new line of Good American bodysuits better (her) designs, without acknowledging (her) or properly compensating for the designs,” the lawsuit continued.

Independent fashion designer Destiney Bleu Lewis founded the company in 2011. On her social media accounts, she promotes her signature bedazzled bodysuits, lingerie, swimwear, and other items. In the lawsuit, Lewis reveals that several A-list celebrities wear her designs. For example, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and Mariah Carey wear her designs in their music videos and at award shows.

The company attacked Kardashian saying, “Good American decided it would be easier to knock off the proven designs of an independent designer.”

Khloe Kardashian fires back at the lawsuit

The lawsuit made headlines several years ago. Previously, the company claimed that instead of working out an agreement, Kardashian sent the company a cease and desist letter. The Good American founder has refused to work with Lewis and her company. During that time, Good American released the following statement:

“Ms. Bleu’s claims that Good American and Khloe Kardashian copied or stole her designs is flagrantly false and a little more than a cheap publicly stunt and an attempt by Ms Bleu to get her 15 minutes of fame. Ms. Bleu did not create the concept or design of a bodysuit with crystals – a fashion style that has been around for decades as evidenced by the fact that Cher has been wearing these styles for over 25 years.”

Then, Kardashian said claims about anything being “copied” or “stolen” are false. The Good American owner said she never saw Lewis’ designs before. Both Kardashian and her brand accused the independent designer of publicity. They also promised to work with Lewis privately through “the proper legal channels.”

The lawsuit appeared May 28 in Los Angeles County Court documents. Kardashian hasn’t since responded to the latest accusations.
