Ariana Madix And Tom Sandoval Defend Scheana Shay Amid ‘VPR’ Editing Drama
Vanderpump Rules stars Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval are defending Scheana Shay after a scathing podcast episode aired on Monday, May 11. The editor behind the Bravo reality series confessed to making Scheana look embarrassing as possible. Bri Dellinger admitted that she enjoys making Scheana look bad since she didn’t befriend her.
Ariana Madix still supports her former friend. She’s not about petty drama. She feels that Scheana Shay is different from how she comes across on the show. Ariana and her boyfriend, Tom Sandoval, appeared on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. During the After Show, they shared their reaction to the editor’s controversial comments.
Vanderpump Rules fans don’t see everything that happens
Ariana Madix revealed that there’s more to the cast than what the viewers see. She says that there’s more to Scheana than what viewers see. Each cast member films his or her scenes, but most get cut. VPR Season 8 had to make room for the new cast members to take over.
“Yes, Scheana does get involved with people pretty deep, pretty fast,” Ariana explained. “But at the same time, there’s a lot of stuff that you’re not seeing on the show, like things that are going on with somebody that doesn’t want to film.”

Ariana respects her friend. She’s not going to open up about her personal life. But she feels there’s more to Scheana than just her boy craziness. Ariana said that Scheana’s “entire life” isn’t on the show.
Sandoval agrees with his girlfriend. He went on to call Scheana the “MVP of the season.” Ariana also lent her support and said she’s proud of Scheana for putting her story out there, every season. Andy says he agreed with the couple.
Controversial podcast episode mysteriously disappears
Ariana Madix made the comment amid some major VPR drama. Editor Bri Dellinger revealed on the now-deleted “Twisted Plot Podcast With Evelyn Marley” that she makes Scheana look embarrassing on purpose. She enjoys “finding all the embarrassing things that Scheana does and putting them all in,” per TV Shows Ace. Bri also revealed that she made it look like Scheana flirted with Stassi Schroeder’s teenage brother, Nikolai.

The VPR editor found that scene hilarious. She admitted to asking Scheana in the interview, “How young you would you go?” but she didn’t tell her that it was for the infamous Nikolai scene. She chopped the scene and added music, to increase the cringe-worthy factor. When that scene aired in April, viewers accused Scheana of “hitting on” the young boy.
Scheana Shay echoes what Ariana Madix said
During an interview with Channel Q’s The Morning Beat, Scheana revealed that she was sick of being portrayed as a “desperate, middle-aged waitress.” The “Gold as Gold” singer feels like it’s become part of her personality. Scheana also backs up Ariana’s claims that viewers don’t get to see her entire life.
“Nothing from my actual life is shown outside of it. I had so much going on last year, but it’s just brushed over because we have eighteen other cast member’s lives to cover.”
The show glossed over her journey to freezing her eggs. Instead, the focus was on Scheana’s reaction to the new male cast members. Ariana and Tom also feel like most of their life is missing from the show. It seems as if the show is not as real as it claims to be.
