A&E orders 160 more episodes of hit police series
According to the report, A&E ordered 160 more episodes of Live PD. This bumps the show up to over 450 episodes. And fans will be happy to hear this news. It’s become one of the top-rated shows on cable television. The docuseries follows law enforcement officers from various police departments across the nation.
The series airs on Friday and Saturday nights from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. ET. However, the show was cut down to 2 hours each night, amid the coronavirus pandemic. In addition, host Dan Abrams and analysts Sean “Sticks” Larkins and Tom Morris Jr. had to film the show via satellite from home.
Despite the ongoing pandemic, A&E plans to announce new programs for the upcoming year. Most television show pilots were shut down due to the pandemic. This led many networks to scramble over their upcoming summer and fall programming schedules.
Deadline wasn’t the only source to make the announcement. On Thursday, May 7, Sticks took to Twitter to share the announcement with Live PD Nation. The Tulsa police officer says he looks forward to spending more Fridays and Saturdays in the studio. He also thanked the viewers for their ongoing support.
Looks like @danabrams @TomMorrisJr1 and I will have our Friday and Saturdays locked up with all of the LivePD Nation for the next few years! Can’t think of a better place or better people to be with! Thank you to all of YOU! 👊 #LivePD @OfficialLivePD pic.twitter.com/zFTNnoIfFh
