September is NICU Awareness Month. Luckily, the shirts are still available for purchase!

Why the Quints Support NICUs

As many fans remember, the Busby quints are the first set of all-girl quintuplets in the United States. TLC began following the family in 2016 for their series, Outdaughtered. According to Wikipedia, the quints were born prematurely at 28 weeks. Consequently, they had to spend three months in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

InTouch Weekly shares Danielle’s thoughts about her family’s time in the NICU. “All the girls have been quite amazing…little miracle growers. I told the doctor after Riley’s chest tube issue and Ava’s infection that those two girlies are not allowed any other ‘issue’ and if the other 3 babies have an ‘issue’ arise, that they are only allowed one,” writes Danielle in her blog, It’s a Buzz World- The Crazy Story of our Life.

The Details about #nicugiveback

Understandably, the NICU is near and dear to the hearts of the Busbys. They participate in #nicugiveback to show their support and gratitude to the NICU hospital staff and raise awareness of the work done in NICUs.

This is the second year, Danielle’s online boutique shop, It’s a Buzz World Shop, features a t-shirt design for their #nicugiveback campaign. During the 2019 campaign, all proceeds from the shirts went to the NICU. Danielle shares on Instagram that their 2019 efforts raised nearly $20K. This year, Instagram captions and the boutique’s website specifically state the proceeds go to the NICU at The Women’s Hospital of Texas.

The Outdaughtered matriarch shares on Instagram that 2019 was the first year that the campaign featured a quint designed shirt.  Each quint had their own design on a shirt.  It also appears that the 2019 shirts are available for purchase. Unfortunately, Hazel’s shirt is sold out.

However, this year combines each of the quints’ drawings as the feature of the 2020 #nicugiveback shirt. Riley contributes a green lizard to the shirt. Parker Kate drew a beautiful butterfly. Olivia chose to share a rainbow. Ava drew a flower and Hazel selected one of her elephant drawings for the shirt.

As previously reported, Outdaughtered Season 6 ended abruptly and fans were disappointed with TLC. Unfortunately, TLC has not released a definitive answer as to whether the Busbys will return for Season 7. There is speculation that this may happen in October of 2020 and Adam may have already let the cat out of the bag. Fans remain hopeful as TV Shows Ace reports that the fan base for the Busby’s is only growing during the COVID-19 self-quarantine measures.

As always, stay safe and healthy! Keep it tuned to TV Shows Ace for more Outdaughtered updates!
