And Clare shared with fans on social media why she has held on to that dress all these years. When Juan Pablo dumped her, Clare let him have it. She shared that one of the reasons for that was his offensive way with women.

Clare said, “He chose to tell me something that no woman wants to hear. That he doesn’t know me and some sexual thing I don’t want to repeat. It was insulting and it was offensive.” As it turns out, Juan Pablo told her basically that he didn’t love her, but loved being intimate with her.

What she said during their breakup

She told Juan Pablo, “I thought I knew what kind of man you were. You had every opportunity, like those other girls did, to tell me exactly how you felt.” Clare was referencing the self eliminations of Sharleen Joynt and Andi Dorfman. He then asked her if she knew when he had made his final decision.

Clare responded saying, “It doesn’t matter to me. I lost respect for you. Because, I’ll tell you what, I thought I knew what kind of man you were, what you just made me go through, I would never want my children having a father like you.” She said all this as she walked away from him. Bachelor fans loved her strength and spunk.

Looking back now Clare still has no regrets about that moment. She said, “I do not regret that moment, and I would not change that moment for anything. I had been through some pretty terrible relationships, and I was that girl that let guys walk all over me, and I had never stood up for myself ever before. And it was just one of the greatest moments of my life to finally stand up there and say, ‘None of it is OK.’ And not just to him but to essentially every guy that ever hurt me before and took advantage of me. It was like, ‘No more.’”

Why did Clare keep the dress?

Clare revealed the dress was not even wearable anymore. She shared the zipper’s completely shredded because she ripped it off as soon as she got back in the car following the breakup. Clare said she held on to the dress for two reasons. Cary hand beaded the dress and that meant the world to her. She also said it was the most empowering moment of her life.

Clare concluded by teasing fans a little. She said, “Just wait til you see my Clare 2.0 dress.” The Bachelorette will begin filming Clare’s season as soon as it is safe to do so. Stay tuned.
